One of my relatives has Apple TV for some reason so I binged the first seven or eight episodes of Ted Lasso which is a sports comedy drama about a successful American College Football Coach getting a new job as the Head Manager of an English Premiere League Soccer/Football Team.
It stars Jason Sudeikis as the Coach, Ted Lasso and while I wasn't too interested in the premise off the show people kept saying it was pretty good.
Aaaaaand it was pretty good. And entertaining... and I kept wanting to watch more episodes. I'm not big on watching television series in general (unless they are completed and finished) and not much for comedies in general, but this was very entertaining. It was funny with very funny and warm and distinct characters... who had incremental and complex character arcs. And lots of interweaving storylines and character drama that was still easy to follow. And the humor wasn't overdone and came mostly organic. It's a very warm and heartfelt series without being narmy or too fake. It's nice seeing a show taking on some complex themes and heavy dramatic moments and treating them in a more positive and uplifting manner in overall tone instead of the depressive tear jerking drivel we tend to get. A main thrust of the show is people trying to be them best selves and trying to make others better which is great. It's very wholesome.
Very good comedy series, would recommend it.
Also saw the war movie Greyhound finally... and it was awesome as well.
