"We have a basic English profanity filter, you can't expect us to do any more to stop rules violations" is not really an acceptable answer, though. Even WSB's version of accounts portrays themselves as absurdly naïve, given that they're arguing that extreme content in a language other than English and/or using non-English characters was some amazingly out of the box behavior that they could not have possibly foreseen.
I think WSB was far too used to the very hands-off administration of Reddit in interacting with Discord, which is a lot more active in enforcing terms on high profile accounts. And I would point out that Discord is still pretty hands-off; they really are not Twitter.
