Culture The Question of Enforcing Cultural Norms

*shrugs* Each to their own.
I haven't watched Linkara in ages (same as with all of the old school "internet reviewers"); the only thing I still remember is him getting consecutively fatter over time. 😅
Taking a "to each there own" attitude towards degenerate behavior is what got us into this cultural death spiral to begin with. They have to be confronted and mocked regularly, or they'll bide their time and chisel away at you until they feel confident enough to attack you openly.

No, it was getting rid of this that put us in a cultural death spiral. Because that's what the leftists aren't doing: leaving people alone.

No shit they aren't leaving people alone, they were never going to. Being left alone was never an option. The idea that if you leave others alone no petty tyrant will ever find the time to victimize you is completely insane. The "I just wanna grill" mentality is a suicidal, childish delusion. Constant, consistent, measured pressure against degeneration has to be maintained at a steady level, or it spreads like wildfire as, in fact, it has.

The libertarian fantasy of "I dont care what happens past my property line as long as it doesnt infringe on my rights" gets your property line surrounded by the proverbial Huns, who have made sure they command overwhelming force *before* stepping over that line.

So this is far off topic, but you assume that the only way to enforce cultural norms is to condemn others, which is entirely wrong. The left loved the moral condemnation of themselves: it fueled them and made them more powerful. The Westboro Baptist Church probably accelerated gay acceptance a whole year all by itself. Meanwhile, it gave the liberals cultural power to stand up against the oppressive right, and condemn them.

We can actually see some of this working in reverse now. People deny that cancel culture exists, because they know that if they accept it exists, it's a bad thing. The right is actually making some progress in the culture war, despite BLM.

Meanwhile, in regards to Linkara, I always liked his history of power rangers stuff.

Of course it's the only fucking way, it's in the fucking name. En FORCE. You cannot enforce, without force. You cannot have a norm that does not by it's very existence exert pressure on things outside the norm. Your lukewarm kindergarden comparisons to oppressive entities are about as relevant as saying "There doesn't need to be a specific amount of air pressure in the environment, because too much air pressure would kill you", what is it with you people and not understanding scale?

What we are seeing is right wingers and so called "moderates" realizing the futility of ignoring their enemies because "well, the fire isnt over my property line yet" and putting the pressure on after decades of scaling it back to the point of a vacuum. We're seeing the exact opposite of what was naively tried and obviously failed, now the right is seeking out idealogical confrontation, now that we're rejecting fat probable sex offenders that like to get pegged by trannies we're making unbelievable progress against the demoralization of the left. Trump was not a to each their own candidate, Trump is the front man of the massive cultural wave of "fuck you, retard."
We're not "leaving alone" for once in two generations and wow! Look at that! We're suddenly winning! We're winning right and left while the enemy crumbles into itself, screaming bitterly and helplessly! We're calling illegal immigrants criminals, and feminists idiots, and trannies mentally ill, we're doing it because it's factually correct and we're not polite enough to let others live in their delusions because we know that inevitably, even if those delusions aren't hurting us right now, we will inevitably be sacrificed on the bloody altar to reinforce them. It wasn't enough to let others think what they want to think and live the way they want to live without mockery or contempt, because the fact that you dont believe it and dont live it is something they can never forget.

We tried "if I leave you alone you leave me alone" it got us no knock raids and court mandated child sex changes. If you dont have a stake in society you'll get what you deserve when the people who despise you amass power.

Pressure, steady, measured, and constant, I'll repeat myself because you glossed over the many qualifying, contextual remarks I had attached to it, is absolutely necessary. The only question up for debate is how much pressure is appropriate, how much pushback is needed to keep the margin of society in check while neither allowing it to spread nor collapsing inward into a spiral of tyranny.

Leaving Linkara unmolested is itself a destructive act, like letting necessary oxygen leak out of a space station. Mocking Linkara is a public service. Killing him would be self destructive tyranny.

Aside from that his exposure of the rampant stupidity of pre-SJW comics such as Countdown, the Culling, One More Day, Cry For Justice etc etc etc name any comic since 2005 ironically precipitated the anti SJW comics movements that he doubtless despises. Notably just his exposure, not his critiques, which were quite shallow. Still, looking back through his videos you get a real good sense of how deep the rot went in comics, how far back they were a complete garbage fire.

if that's your mentality, stay away from me and stay off my property. people like you are every bit as hunlike with the added mentality of "If I don't someone else will." That goes for anybody on the progressive side as well. I've seen history play out one to many times where as soon as you "Win" you immediately start turning on others because they don't fit your expectations, whether politically....or physically. If humans have taught me anything it's people LOVE to hate.

Again with the smoothbrain "I dont understand scale, having any pressure in the spaceship is like having infinity pressure in the spaceship" argument that I already addressed.

Refusing to have sex with someone is both pressure and a hostile judgement, by the way, this is objective fact. Welcome to your brave new world.

because it's inevitability never going to be enough. The captain always ends up becoming so obsessed and paranoid with "Preventing that leak." he goes "More pressure more pressure I don't even want to hear a single spurt!" and loa and behold the crew has gotten crushed because the captain was paranoid about security to the point of obsession at best, or he fixes somthing to the point it breaks and he creates a leak that is just as bad if not worse in the process. humans aren't good at measured, and constant thier only good at cooking the books afterwards, unless your the left in which case your not even good at that.

Also dude, this has nothing to do with comic book reviews. If you want to argue this, then do it on a thread like this one. https://www.the-sietch.com/index.php?threads/inequality-is-good.2921/page-3#post-79268

"No society ever has functioned!"
"All states are degenerative!"

Maintaining the delicate relationship between margin and center, allowed exception and norm, a relationship based on *limited* pressure, is what a society *is*. That is a *description* of the functioning of a society that is not currently in a state of freefall collapse and no, not every society is at every moment in a state of collapse into either tyranny or degenerate chaos. There is ebb and flow as the appropriate pressure is a contextual, changing thing and difficult to determine in exact without hindsight (i.e. "That was obviously not enough, or that was clearly too much"), but the very literal nature of a society that is not currently tearing itself apart is that the relationship has remained within a close enough level to not cascade in either direction.
