The original publisher of Civilization, Colonization, Mechwarrior, X-Com and a literal plethora of flight sim games went defunct back in the early 2000's.
But now apparently it has returned.
Or rather someone decided to purchase up a bunch of old Microprose IP including its name and logo, gain the blessing of Microprose's founder (who wasn't Sid Meier who left the company to found Firaxis) and is now planning on publishing three games next year, with twenty or so more planned and mostly developed by external studios. They all appear to be military strategy and simulation games.
