I want to dedicate this thread to the corruption, hypocrisy, petty politicking, bullying, incompetence and agenda-peddling of our one and only wannabe-world-government, the magnificent United Nations, beacon of (un)hope for all mankind.

Whether exhaustive articles or theses, or just some unflattering images, anecdotal tales and even memes, every kind of anti-UN material is welcome here.

I'll start us off with this magnificent tweet from Tel-Aviv, Israel, showing us how the heroes of the UN help uphold the fragile peace in this war-torn region of the globe.

All in all, the UN has had a lot to say about fictional depictions of abuse; but strangely, not so much about the actual abuse conducted by their own people. Oh they'll condemn it when it's exposed, and punish a few scapegoats, but they won't do anything to prevent it from happening again; evidenced by the fact that this has been going on for decades.

To be fair the UN isn't the one providing the troops for said operations and ever since the Black Hawk down incident in Somalia and Belgian peacekeepers being butchered in Rwanda no first world nation really provides troops for UN peacekeeping anymore

I've commented before on how terrible the UNRWA is. Essentially the hidden "third side" in the Israel/Palestine conflict, they've been edging on and increasing the violence for decades. They've redefined "refugee" so that everybody descended from a male who was displaced during the 1948 war is a refugee, and the status in inheritable (and applies to foster children). They remain a refugee under the UNRWA's definition even if they settled down and obtain citizenship and property in another nation. There were about 750,000 people who became refugees in 1948, almost all of whom immediately settled in Jordan or became Israeli citizens. Around 20,000 are still alive today, but due to the UNRWA's redefinitions and pushing for more refugees, there are over five million total "refugees." This includes 2 million "refugees" who have full Jordanian citizenship and have been living there for decades (their children will continue to be counted as refugees).

UNRWA schools house and fire missiles at Israel. UNRWA teachers have been shown repeatedly and often to teach children racism and hatred and to encourage martyrdom and violence. Their chosen textbooks are selected to encourage warfare and indoctrinate Palestinian children into believing that peace with Israel is impossible. Their structure is known to promote graft and corruption and Hamas members are promoted to high positions in the UNRWA. They're very big on the Palestinian's right to protest right up until they're the ones at risk from it. Then they flee to Israel.

Effectively, the UNRWA continues to promote the conflict between Israel and Palestine so that they can continue to collect their sweet, sweet funding checks. While other UN agencies like the UNHCR resettle refugees, the UNRWA not only does not but continues to act against refugees resettling themselves. I suspect the entire miserable Israel/Palestine conflict would have burned itself out long ago if the UNRWA wasn't doing it's best to fan the flames at every chance they got.

You forgot the Cholera outbreak that was released in Haiti when infected Nepali peacekeepers were sent there. I remember Al Jazeera actually broke the story and the UN was in full denial and deflection mode until they couldn't hide it anymore.

The UN Security Council performs its job of avoiding WW3 fairly well all things considered. Not really, often times it comes down to the US playing chicken with the reds, until both sides agree to calm down. The UN really hasn’t been useful.

Yeah I'd agree in that part. It is good to actually have a forum where almost every nation in the world can talk to each other to some degree. Plus there are some bits of the United Nations that are good I'm sure. It's a massive organization.

Like the World Food Programme has serious criticisms because of the strict local government controls on its food distribution and the like, but it still does provide food security for millions of the impoverished.

They've got some agricultural research branches running around that I've heard good thing about. Granted, those reccomendations may have been from something that happened decades ago, but a lot of the rot goes so deep that it seems likely that if they were somehow still pure back then they may have stayed that way. The greater UN doesn't care enough about some small group countering crop diseases and spreading high-yield GMOs, it's not sexy enough to corrupt.

Essentially, the UN Peacekeepers have had..since at least the 70's a reputation of being literal corpse fuckers and Jimmy Saville style Necrophilic pedophiles. Some of the allegations are almost cartoonish in their scope...But the Haitian Community in Miami insists that they not only ran trains on Haitian boys and girls, but also engaged in corpse fucking on a truly industrial scale. And I do mean industrial, one report I remember reading had several city blocks of Port Au Prince looking like something out of a Go Nagai manga.

They're not alone, Eastern Europeans and Africans make the same claims and a lot of the lawyers who litigate on their behalf end up having accidents and shit.

It's one of the darker accusations levied against the UN. One that's fairly consistent. And while I do take it with a bit of a grain of salt, you don't get internal memos from the UN and Lecture videos on skull fucking..if they themselves don't take it seriously.

Whether or not that's true..I can't say.
