Because SOF are the least diverse military branch. Sure, they made moves at increasing diversity, like lowering the standards and removing the swimming test, but it's not enough, so more radical moves are needed.

He was probably part of problem for being a pompous ass, but those guys had a real bone to pick with him.

I think,that they would keep some real unit for that occasion.American armed forces would simply be made into two categories - real fighters for foreign campaigns,and brainwashed police force to stomp on USA citizens.
