depends on how the book talked about him. but considering CA it is a ballsy move to say not in an elementary school. can't say anything related to the accusation that he was a pedo.

that said it isn't a book ban. they are choosing to not pick that specific social studies text book. if not choosing a textbook is the new definition of banning a book we should sit down with every school in the nation about the hundreds of textbooks they chose not to force kids to read in school.

Speculation is brewing Burgum's presidential campaign will flame out due to dreadful polling numbers and he'll eventually seek reelection to third term as North Dakota Governor in 2024.
In the highly likely event that this is true, do you think his ill-fated presidential run will have any significant effect, either positive or negative, on his gubernatorial campaign?

I doubt there will be much of an effect one way or another. ND is a pretty red state, and given the state of things in the country right now, just the fact he's a Republican will be enough to see him re-elected. We tend not to elect Democrats unless times are very good for us, like back in the '90s, and even then they tend to be pretty moderate.

they really would be better off not at this point. considering how DeSantis has burned his image with his botched run? they would be better off holding off and running next time.

Desantis has a lot going for him but the man wasn't ready for prime time yet. I have nothing against the man but he wasn't ready for it yet.

He really has bungled his run so far though. it sucks that it is probably going to stick around and poison the well if he tries and runs again. it mostly seems to be his lack of charisma and his horrible hiring when it comes to his campaign at this point with how they have borked most every step of his run. he was being hyped for so long by so many people while he was playing coy and pretending he wasn't going to run. then everyone starts saying you were dumb if you ever believed him. then he has the shit twitter launch. then he has the AI generated images. he burned his potential future runs for this and he fucked it up. whoever advised him is either exceptionally stupid or had the goal of him crashing and burning.
