Lord Vetenari is now a woman, Lady Sybil is a hot young, slim black woman, Grimes is some punk rocker dude and the female dwarf who wants to dress like a girl is now a tranny.
Ya I saw that. Overall while some of the books made into decent if low budget adaptions and Good Omens was true to the books this was not to be.
Frist off it is a lot bigger undertaking. This means you need a studio will to spend a lot of money. You also need a back stage staff of writers and directors that care about the source materials.
Second is that the BBC despite being a major network does not have the experience of making shows like Game of Thrones but instead is more famous for low budget stuff. They have yet to take the step into being a mini Hollywood like the bigger Amercian T.V. producers have.
Second is that the BBC is going full on Woke. They have been pushing gender changes and race changes in the name of diversity. They care little about historical or even source works in their push for diversity.
So while this is worst then I thought it would be I am not surprised.
The thing is that changing things like Lady Sybil into a hot young women not only changes her character but is anti progressive. Just like when D.C. decided that Waller needed to be a hot super spy instead of the cartoon version of a bureaucrat. In the books while not ugly Sybil would be described as plain and solid at best. So for all the wokeness they are trying to produce they still want to tell women you can only be young and pretty.
