I'd bet money on Amber Heard getting dropped because of the whole abuse scandal. Warner Brothers might not be quite as image-obsessed as Disney is, but her abusing Depp stars big enough personalities and is becoming a mainstream-enough news story itself that it seems much more likely the culprit of her getting dropped instead of weight-gain.

Story also seems to be tabloid-tier stuff at the moment. So...Might not even be true?

Amber Heard is a real piece of work, and screwed up by accusing Johnny Depp of abuse when in reality they were just your average pair of co-dependent alcoholics (IE lots of abuse all around).

There's a lot of lying going up, but there's been enough said / lies revealed to say that its pretty certain that Amber Heard pretty much lied because she was divorcing Depp anyway and wanted to get free publicity and popularity by jumping aboard #MeToo.

Now, as to what exactly happened? There's way too many accusations / rumors going on to say for sure. Whatever it is, though, it's not really surprising Warner Bros. removed her from Aquaman 2. Amber Heard is embroiled in too much drama against one of the most well liked actors in Hollywood, and a lot of people are going to think she's scum regardless of how Depp's defamation lawsuit ends.

Only Black writers are being considered for Marvel's new Blade film.

I think ultimately this is a good idea. Just look at Black Panther. If Jon Favreau suggested having a scene where a Large Bearded Black Man in furs hooting and growling at a White Man saying he'd eat him or having another Black character blow a horn to summon a War Rhino into their high tech African battle he would be ostracized and excoriated for being massively racist. But instead Ryan Coogler wrote and directed the film so it's all good!

But with Black Writers (at least ones that aren't Conservative) you can throw in whatever nonsense you want and it's progressive and brave and striking. Can't wait to see what they turn out! It has to be better then Blade: Trinity!

Latest on the Dr Who saga has John Bloody Barrowman shove his oar in with his opinions.

He hopes that a trans or 'Gender non specific' person will take over the role. FFS.

""I'd love to see a transgender Doctor. I think that would be awesome," Barrowman told Metro.co.uk, adding that it would also be "really good" to see an "androgynous, gender non-specific person" cast in the role.
"With Jodie, they made a leap," he said, referring to her being the first female Doctor. "They made a huge leap and it worked for them, and then [it's] time for them to make another leap."

Ah, no it hasn't. I don't even think a lot of the backlash has been the fault of Jodie Whittaker, its been the fault of increasingly shitty writing. Getting someone in to fill a slot JUST because they are trans or gender non specific is a terrible idea, just get someone who's best for the role, or is that too ambitious.

I would have thought just coming out and saying something like this would break some kind of Federal anti-discrimination law or something like that.

I swear to god, if something like the Cybermen existed in real life, all they’d have to do is throw up a thin facade about them being ‘non-gendered and ecologically friendly’ or some other BS and you’d get idiots praising them to the heavens and lining up to be converted.

Apparently Milestone Comics' iconic and most successful character, Static Shock, just wasn't quite 'woke' enough for Today's world. For those of you that don't know, Virgil Hawkins, ie Static Shock, had his origins as a Black teenager who was bullied by a gang of White kids at his school and being convinced to retaliate by shooting said bully with a gun when the White kids were meeting with a rival gang. At the last moment he refuses to shoot the Bully and throws the gun aside when Law Enforcement raids the gang meetup and he's caught up in the ensuing chaos. The LEO's use a new sort of tear gas that gives many of those present, including Virgil, superhuman powers in an event known as 'The Big Bang' because it occurred during a Gangbanger meetup.

Static was created by a group of Black Comic book writers who intended on making Static a teenaged superhero somewhat similar to Spider-man. Milestone Comics itself was founded a few decades ago by Black Artists and Writers and Static turned out to be their most successful hero. This is because Dwayne McDuffie, the original creator and other members of the creative team actually wrote good stories with decent artwork and also because the ensuing TV series Static Shock was also pretty decent and further helped popularize the character.

So what do you think happens when you have an already well established, grounded African-American character with substance and relatable issues facing all teenagers at the time of its release and REBOOT it now and have an overhyped race hustler like Reginald Hudlin pen a new origin story under the DC Comics brand?

Why, you just eschew the idea of the difficulties of growing up in High School and being bullied in a school with obvious racial issues amongst its student body and relevant social issues of growing up in an urban neighborhood and replace it with him marching in a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest that gets assaulted by a shieldwall of racist White cops who open fire on them with the aforementioned experimental tear gas with impunity and relish in seeing their bodies hitting the concrete. When it is shown that the tear gas is having side effects, one of the kids protesting is seen having his face melting off and one of the cops asks if they should call an ambulance but another cop says "Don't get soft. They asked for it."

They asked for it."

Mainly because it is not about having a character with an interesting background or even exploring the Issue of something like bullying or racial tensions. The recent Social Justice Warriors push is just a checklist and is actually a very shallow movement.

Just like Hollywood of the 90's used the random black student to fill a quota so do the new shows. Every ensemble needs at least one black person, one Hispanic person, one LGB person, one trans person, be half women. They also require that any minority be blameless and only have superficial flaws at best. Basically have the be Mary Sue's. Gone are the days of even a show like Modern Family having an interesting and flawed gay couple.

Not to mention that BLM is the medias new white Knight for solving every racial issue. They forget that there are deep problems in the movement and overall is better known for riots or making racist rants at Candian politicians at this point then making any real substantial changes. But in media expect to see them lionized like the protest movements of the 60s or hippies. They ignore that BLM has mainly faded and lost most of its public support compared to where it was a year ago. While the past movements they used as background for characters had a much larger and long lasting change instead of being a flash in the pan like Occupy movements.

Look at how any cop show that has restarted snice the BLM protests has had epsoides with about how evil cops are poor blacks are all misunderstood. With the Rookie being a prime example.

The entire new season of the Rookie has been this. It first started off with the main character being assigned to coumminty center in a poor black neighborhood. Where he learns that the valuable lesson of policing the neighborhood only causes problems.

Later on we see the main character join a criminal law class and how he is wrong and cops are evil. Even the "fair" teacher talks about how cops have to make up for everything.

Then you get an entire plot line about how the new training officer for Jackson, a young black rookie cop is actually a racist. But he has toed the line and generally has hidden his racism as anti-gang sentiments. You have the speech against the black police watch commander on how he has not done enough or is a traitor for not making everything perfect.

You also have the last season major plotline of a detective being dirty and working for a cartel memory holed and wrapped up in the seaon premier. I am not say this is because the drity cop was a black man but......

Ya that plotline and the consequences disappeared pretty fast.

Overall the show is becoming preachy and most of the new plotlines feel forced just like the new racial epsoides that every sitcome from Superstore to Last Man Standing have had to include. Which is sad snice it was one of the better cop shows on.

So new LGBT Captain America is coming. This one appears to be a hobo, and his shield looks like it's a trash can lid with extremely sloppy, runny paint on it.

I find this pretty problematic. I mean, I'm not opposed to gay heroes in general though I dislike making existing heroes gay, I'd prefer to see some gay icons who don't have to slavishly imitate pre-existing straight icons. However this one, why did they decide that the gay Captain America should be dirty, wearing stained paint-spattered overalls, and with a shield that appears to have been made in a third world country... Also that American Flag Tattoo is wrong you morons, the stars go to the front if it's on that arm, haven't you ever seen a military uniform?

Ahem, my best guess is they're trying to get away from all the Mary-Sue perfect gay characters so that made this one slovenly. I dunno, it would work for some characters but I can't help but think that making Captain America a filthy homeless gay guy is a step in the wrong direction, for both gays and America, and also Captain America.

Edit: Should also add I absolutely do not get why they're calling it "The United States of Captain America." That title it... I don't get it.

Where are the cap muscles? 😦
Yeah that too.

I've commented before that I disapprove of black Batman because it conflicts with Batman's themes of being wealthy and privileged and ignoring the lavish lifestyle he could have to save the world. Making him a minority takes away from that. Captain America on the other hand is an ideal of being the everyman who embodies the very best spirit of the nation, who could be anybody. I would wholeheartedly approve black Cap, Oriental Cap, Hispanic Cap, and yes, absolutely, Gay Cap.

But I find myself withholding approval for filthy, weak-looking, hobo Cap. Gay Cap needs to fit Captain America's themes, to be the ideal we can aspire to be, not the guy we'd cross the street to avoid having to smell.

Troubling to think Nazis have taken over Activision and now dominate the Call of Duty franchise. On a personal level I was always troubled by the unnecessary depictions of Nazis and Nazism in games like Call of Duty: World War Two and their other WW2 based shooters.

You just have to love how they can't help but stick to stereotypes. And I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this is some kind of self-insert, or maybe the author's idea of an ideal lay or something like that.

So Snyder did a charity livestream and called out Geeks & Gamers.

I wouldn't consider G&G a "hate group" in the usual sense, but he is sorta right. You have all of these channels - Overlord DVD, Midnight's Edge, G&G, the Quartering, YellowFlash, ThatUmbrellaGuy, Anti-Trekker, etc - that are built on complaining about how their favorite franchises have fallen. I share their frustration, but it feels sad watching them continue to cling to the dead corpses of their favorite franchises after all these years.

Yes, the fall of Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel and DC comics to corporations that been fully converged by the woke is sad, but complaining isn't going to change anything. The franchises you loved are gone and they're never coming back, not in the way you want them. Stop worshipping franchises. Move on with your life. Find new things to enjoy. No, you're not going to find new genre movies and TV with high production values like Star Wars that isn't woke. That era is over. You have to embrace other mediums like anime or indie published books and comics. Support them.
