The Kennedy's losing power was because your predecessors in the intel business put a bullet in 2 of them.
As for the Rockefellers, they never lost power, they just changed the name from Standard Oil to Exxon and learned to diversify holdings to stay clear of anti-trust laws.
I mean, they don't hold the same power.
Most of the big name families that were around during the boom in the US no longer have the same power.
And most if the Rockefeller family may get the money from it but arnt directly invovled anymore
Not holding the same power =/= held to account for their crimes against their country, including the Rockefellers selling oil to the Nazi's.
The Clinton's also may not be in power directly, but just look at the Russia Collusion hoax and everything they did against Trump and got away with. That's even before you get into the who has been 'suicided' by the Clintons, or things like Hillary's server.
And well, there is also the Epstein/Epstein Island connection that the Clinton's have dodged, like so many others.

Doesn’t matter how scary they are if they have people willing to follow their commands.
We call that historical inertia and yes that lasts awhile, but over time fewer and fewer people are willing to follow the commands, more people defect to the other side and one day it just all collapses at once a decades long process yes but its already started.

These sorts of people don't like losing, they're the sort of creeps that on their deathbed would press the 'fuck the world' button without a thought. They are salty about losing, but they're glad they've made you lose too!
Given how many nukes, plagues, chemical weapons and god knows what else is in hiding around the globe, it wouldn't surprise me if the guys on top have a lot of access to it all. If they already control the world why not it's fancier stuff?
They would still lose and end up becoming one of histories monsters. Possible yes because they act like spoiled children but it just makes their end that much more gruesome when it does come.
Of course they'd lose, but the point is they'd make everyone else lose as well. Basically flipping the finger as they go down.

Thing is by that point allowing them to remain in power will be worse then what ever they unleash as a final fuck you.
