War and politics both make for strange bedfellows, as they say. That plus the old adage, “the enemy of my enemy...”

Well of course they did.

Well of course they did.

True, of course they did, but it’s a pretty open secret that the Squad despise Pelosi and Schumer, seeing them as part of the “old guard” and they should step down and make way for more socialist true believers like their ilk, while Pelosi herself seems to have quite a condescending attitude toward the Squad, not that either side is completely wrong in this case, ironically.

As much as I dislike Pelosi

(I feel she hasn't done nearly enough for my state)

Between her and the squad she's the lesser of two evils, not that Pelosi's good its more that the squad is that bad.

I'm honestly disappointed in Pelosi. I'd built her up to be a smooth, ruthless political operator, but between the "I'm a Catholic so I don't hate", celebratory impeachment pens, and whatever she thought she was doing at the SotU (not the tearing thing, tearing up the speech was good theater) she comes off as entitled and doddering. Either she's over the hill or her connections back in Cali propped her up more than I thought.

I would disagree.

Pelosi is the greater threat, because she's at least semi-competent.

Its both.

As I have said California fucked up bad we have over promised retirement plans for our public workers for decades, drove out a lot of our business and bet everything on tech and Hollywood. We are finically insolvent we got maybe 4 to 8 years tops before we run out of other peoples money and have to admit we cant possibly pay it back.

At that point we have three options

(a) get bailed out by the federal government
(b) declare bankrupcy
(c) collapse

The first two options require us to have people with pull in the federal government and like it or not Pelosi theorectically has that kind of pull. So she does get propped up thing is she's old and clearly losing her functionality but the California democratic party cant afford to lose her because if she's gone when the shit hits the fan everythings fucked.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Additional cameras have found Pelosi to prep her paper ripping scene by slightly tearing it to make it easier to rip in half.

I'm not sure how my browsing led me to this clip, but the whole video was shocking. Several self-proclaimed Democrat callers were VERY disdainful towards their parties' conduct during the speech, talking of quitting the party. Assuming they're not crank callers (and why would anyone put in the effort to troll C-span of all things) I think it hints at a larger trend of regular voters being fed up with congressional democrats.
I had a similar epiphany watching this video of an Iowa voter who wanted to change her primary vote after belatedly learning that Buttigieg was gay. I wondered "And how many other Democrats are like that?" Which isn't to say something infantile like "Dems are the REAL homophobes". Rather, videos like that really show that the screen-addicted news junkies, tumblr/twitter ranters and, dare I say, Spacebattles users, make up a small percent of the Democrat voting base. Many of them might be like the woman in the video, who was so low-information that only on the day of the Iowa caucus did she learn that Pete Buttigieg was a gay man. Or they're like those C-span callers, watching the behavior of Congressional Democrats and seeing a party that doesn't gel with their own views, deciding of their own volition that it's time to split.

He sure knows how to play the game. Wax the blowback of sanctuary cities and let them squirm in their seats.

Was bringing in a victim’s family member really a good idea?

I think Democrats can say that he’s just some tool in order to invalidate Trump

The irony of a pack of angry democrats wearing matching full body white costumes to try to intimidate people...

... Again

They’re not wearing pointy masks though

It's a politician's oldest trick in the book and Trump is using it to show he's aware of the victims of the system and so gives them a chance in the spotlight and there can be no greater honor than being there for an American.

He brought in a veteran from Afghanistan to see his wife and children there.

Still sorta sounds like he’s taking advantage of him to win PR

Though, I think even Trump is feeling displeased or weirded out with the rampant willful and aware sort of legal idiocy that got americans killed

Hell yeah he's taking advantage. If there's a legitimate tragic bunch he'll use them to highlight a problem.

He should be he witnessed it as the government got involved in lots of adventures following 9/11.
