My point is that the chinese army would've had to spend time and money into rebuilding the base if it had been destroyed according to President Trump's plan.
You do know what destroying a base like Bagram means right? Make the airfield have holes and bumpy, and destroy buildings as best as possible.
It isn't like they could level it. THey ould just have taken like a month to fix it

Completely destroying it might have cost more than it did to put it up, especially if it was done in a hurry with weapons grade explosives instead of careful demolition crews. Throwing a 60k dollar missile on a concrete wall that cost a total of 10k to put up is peak MIC though so I am somewhat surprised it wasn't done. Then again they dropped the ball so hard they didn't even think the Afghan government would fall in 3 months, much less the 2 weeks it actually took.
Completly destroying it would have cost more time then we would have wanted to spend

Does anyone know what this opinion is based on, that the Taliban cannot bring electrical power to an airport? Are they not in charge of the rest of Afghanistan's grid? I mean, it's not that hard to believe that Bagram is special in some way that makes this plausible but I'm not aware of it.

Lack of electricity period would definitely account for lack of electricity in Bagram but it wouldn't be the first time a regime's priorities were whacked. Thanks for the info.

So this wasn't half as bad as the right wing media has been making it sound, which explains why a lot of them aren't linking the actual video.
Two people follow her into the bathroom. Two. They aren't yelling, and they're perfectly calm. They didn't chase her, and she wasn't running away. They just followed her to the restroom. That's it.. this isn't much of a big deal exept that One of them is an illegal immigrant.
But yeah descriptions I have seen around the internet made it look like she was chased by a mob.

It didn't make Nancy Pelosi happy.
Admittedly, The optics aren't great, but I was picturing a mob of antifa forcing her into a bathroom for fear of assault.
Instead she got followed into a bathroom by two women who were acting calm, that she just didn't want to talk with.
So while it looks a little bit bad, it's being played up to sound like it's more than it is, as it makes it's way through the right wing circuits.
Ultimately it's kind of a nothingburger. The left just ignoring it would probably be their best bet. But it's got Nancy pissed off, so we'll see how that plays out.

If you're able to slowly walk away, you aren't being chased.
