Seriously; where did this idea come from that the establishment would back down from pushing the Corona Virus angle after they won? If anything, they're going to keep using it as an excuse to establish dictatorial power over every aspect of society and our lives. As I recall, an Obama aid was caught during his administration saying that they didn't need the House or the Senate; they could do whatever they wanted without involving them at all. So this isn't all that unexpected.

A couple of months ago the mayors of all the mid-sized cities in the state sent the governor a letter that said that if he tried any of that lockdown bullshit again they were going to ignore it and he was welcome to send in the state troopers to try and make them comply. It lit a fire in Austin.

Obama issued 50% fewer executive orders in his first term than Trump did, and fewer overall than his immediate predecessor George W. Bush. It seems like nothing more than weird, selective memory to single Obama out on this particular issue. In fact, Trump averaged more EOs per year than any president since Carter.
