So possibly at least 25 hostages, plus some amount of equipment have been siezed, does not seem like the attackers have left the compound, though their exact location is unclear.

Wat. We're having an actual Iranian Hostage Crisis? History is supposed to rhyme, not be cut-and-paste.

Not even that.Iranian do not even send their own troops, but their lackeys. It is as if they told: USA is not worth our time, our sidekicks would do".
Sad thing about Biden USA - they could be right.

@Bigking321 - you are prophet.Of course,it is all Trump doing.Interesting, how many in USA would buy it....

Any Americans?
Was there a firefight? Why did Marines not fight back?
Not exactly; seems like it might have a been a break in that and hostage raid that has gotten held up.

The Houthi's been kidnapping Yemenese Embassy staff a bit lately, from what the follow on replies on twitter are saying.

They just upp'ed the anti this time.

If there are no Americans, eh

This will embolden more, if nothing else.

Also having your embassy staff routinely kidnapped, and having it happen on Embassy grounds as well...not a great look.
Is it past marine guards or it is in one of those adjacent ones that srmt guarded?
They may just spread the Marines to defend those now

No idea, news is sparse and mostly repetitive now on Twitter.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Only thing I think you're missing is the beginning of the chain: gathering raw materials, transport of raw materials, processing of raw into base production material (ie. iron to steel), then transport of raw material to production center for finished good. In today's world, that could mean several stages of production before the final assembly of the good.
That's exactly what I thought but more clear.
New problem for Biden; Embassy in Yemen just got stormed, they have hostages.

Carter once again?

The election was a poison chalice for the Dems.

Also America.

...We've got three more years of this bullshit.

Stolen elections have consequences.

Hopefully all the corrupt establishment Republicans that went along with it will learn their lesson from this clusterf*** and actually try and resist fraud next time instead of doing whatever they had to to get rid of Mr mean tweets.

They will never learn. They don't give a shit about what happens to the peons that are us. As long as they get to continue snorting coke off the bodies of prepubescent slaves and waste the money of the public, all is good in their eyes. As long as no enraged mob is breaking down their doors to drag them out for some extrajudicial justice, France Style, they will never ever learn.

I was still in diapers when Carter left office. :p

Not fond of Friedman. You should read Keynes (The Economic Consequences of the Peace), Galbraith (The Great Crash, 1929), Veblem (The Theory of the Leisure Class), and Inchauste (Productivity Growth During The Great Depression).

Good luck finding a copy of the last one because the conclusion was too radical for publication: technology was advancing faster than workers could be trained.

Wrong Friedman. Milton Friedman is the economist; George Friedman (no relation AFAIK) is the guy who founded Stratfor and is a specialist in geopolitics. And his track record is actually pretty good.

Edit: I will look into the economics side, I got some lessons on Keynes and Galbraith, enough to convince me no one side has all the answers.

Is it sad that things have gotten to the point people go directly to how this makes the current government look bad as opposed to concerned about another national hostage situation?

It’s not really the same for a couple of reasons, chief among them being the Houthis apparently only targeted locals, not any Americans. If they had, everyone would have been screaming at Biden to scramble forces. For another, the Iranians were the host nation

As hostage situations go, it seems they’ve already let most of the locals go, and the career people at State are trying to get the rest released.

It’s certainly not good, but it’s not at the level of Benghazi, which means either the Americans weren’t the target, or else the Houthis were smart enough to know that causing a crisis of the level of Benghazi would have meant active U.S. intervention -if not under Biden, then definitely under his successor (because Biden wouldn’t survive politically if he didn’t act).

Good Morning Sietch family. I'm not surprised AR State Attorney General Leslie Rutledge (R) abandoned her gubernatorial aspirations & chose to run for AR Lieutenant Governor in 2022.
