The Wall Street Journal has basically always been anti-Biden? Just not pro-Trump. Think of them like the Fox News of print journalism. Fox is also reporting on the speech stuff, so it isn't a surprise.

I wasn't sure where the best place to put this was, but this seemed a better fit than the Donbas derail thread.
Russia is having problems handling fucking Ukraine.
The US would obliterate them in conventional war and its a open question if their nuclear weapons still work so unconventual might be a slaughter too. Also their navy is a joke.

Because Alaska makes Ukraine look like easy mode. The only port the Russians have the feed such an invasion is Vladivostock. All war material would have to be funneled through there into an Alaskan invasion which we would see well ahead of time. Next they need to sail to Alaska. Not a short journey and then invade....

Not to mention the ground that will eat armored vehicles alive. That's in summer. Anchorage is the only port into Alaska and well it is stupidly easy to mine the access points.

Anchorage is not the only access point to the Alaskan interior; Valdez exists, as does Seward, Skagway and Whittier.
However getting to any of those requires getting around the Aleutian and up into the interior waterways of Alaska, and that is a very tough thing for any hostile force to accomplish without being sunk by AShMs or mines or stuck out on mudflats that will swallow ships whole.
Actually easier to move around Alaska in winter, comparatively; ice is more friendly for travels than muskeg, rivers full of glacial flour, and during winter the bears are hibernating, as are most other large animals who may be hostile.

Military assets aside, the 2nd Amendment has obvious benefits here. Even without too many people there or a majority of those that are actively resisting, tens of thousands of dogged, well-armed insurgents can make considerable trouble — even before the actual US Military arrives.

And in that kind of terrain...there's extremely little any invading force would be able to do to prevent sniping, ambushes and other such defender's tactics. Then trying to catch the defenders as they slip away from contact. Good freekin' luck.

Can understand that it's a developing story and all, but anyone else find it odd they won't provide any screenshots of the "threatening messages" he allegedly posted? I know I sure do, though at this point, I shouldn't be surprised.
Now, if they supply evidence that it actually happened (instead of merely going "Trust me, bro!"), then I guess it happened. Even then, that's still way more brutal than the slap on the wrist all the people who threatened Trump got; last time I checked, Kathy Griffin, Eminem, and Madonna weren't shot to death in an FBI raid.
