Election 2020 Bidening the Trump? Trumping the Biden? The presidential debate thread.

It's easy to claim peace in the middle east when you let ditactors gas their populace, betray your local allies, do nothing about Russia putting bounties on American Soldiers and... this is the same Trump who ordered a drone strike on a general in the Iranian military right?

War is not yet Peace

1. Dictators gassing their population was something going on while Obama was president too. There's just less Americans dying and American tax dollars being spent on trying to act as an unwelcome anti-war-crimes enforcement patrol.
2. Israel and (semi-unfortunately) Saudi Arabia are the only US Allies in the region. The Kurds were people with a common goal for a time, but for as long as they remained largely communist, we were never going to back them after our interests no longer aligned. It's sad, but unless you're literally willing to have a permanent US occupation of parts of multiple nations to enforce a Kurdistan, this was going to happen sooner or later.
3. The Russian bounties on American Soldiers thing was BS from start to finish. The intel community investigated it as a possibility, and someone leaked that they were looking into it. No evidence this was the case was ever actually found, as the intel community has publicly stated.
4. Killing Suleimani was one of the best steps towards bringing peace in the area since OBL was killed. He was Iran's chief organizer and propagator of terrorist organizations beyond their borders.

It is true that the Middle East is not at peace. It is, however, absolutely closer to peace.

1. ISIS was functionally annihilated less than a year after Trump took office.
2. Iranian-sponsored terrorism is in decline.
3. The Israeli-Saudi relation is warming.
4. The multiple outright normalized relations/treaties between Israel and various Arab muslim nations is huge.

As long as culture in that region remains the same, there won't be any outright peace. It's just not going to happen. But things are much better now than they were before.

I hope he either has placard signs he holds up, or just live-Tweets from the podium.

This is perfect. People would see it as him being exactly in character, and if Twitter tries to censor his tweets about Hunter's laptop at the same time the moderator is muting him? Whooo boy.

Yeah the IC didn't even see it as that likely of a possibility that it wasn't wide spread. I found out about it through the news. So did everyone I work with.

The debate is gonna be very interesting because of all this hunter biden stuff going on.

True but Trump shouldn't have to rely on it, he should definitely mention it at the right moment so as to make use of the national audience but not focus on it at the great expense of his message. He should also press Joe to give an answer on court packing again.

And when I say 'press him' I don't mean give the fucker a chance to waffle on and distract, ask him a question and answer it at the same time and let Biden try to deny it.

Trumps record over the past few years and his policies should be enough to blow Biden out of the water like he should have at the last debate.

Taxes, jobs, safety and recovery should be his focus. Contrast that with Bidens shitty record on taxes, Obamas 'magic wand' comment about jobs, the leftist riots and endless wars and how, with Trump the vaccine will soon be out, lockdowns don't work (by all means mention that even the WHO said they should only be temporary at worst) and the economy will spring back under his administration.

So far none of the stuff on those emails is terminal for Biden before election day, if the DOJ is not going to press charges or make an announcement about an investigation before that then it is quite possible that the huge smokescreen and cover operation the media is running could hold the line for him. It might dissuade some voters who hear of it which is great but I think Trump should be attacking Biden on all fronts so as not to take the chance that the attack on Hunters emails is lacking with voters before Nov 3.

Edit: Oh and Trump should definitely bring up school choice at some point if it comes up.

They're only allowed to mute the mics during the first 4 minutes.

That said, if Trump were smart he would try to push them into muting him for a thing and then show them not muting Biden for the same thing since that would feed into the narrative he's been claiming.

He could always smuggle in a loudspeaker.
