It's been...not quite bothering me, but I've been tilting my head because I had a niggle of familiarity and 'you've seen this type of thing before' and it was at the CHAZ--because they had the same oddball race stuff intersecting with similar 'these people clearly grew up in apartments...suburbs at best' in how they're doing the thing.

I don't think they are worried about running out of food, because near as I can tell they do not actually prohibit going to buy goods from the local stores. They'll have to get supplies and nutrients for their attempt somewhere, and they don't seem dumb enough to think they can do agriculture without some basic local suppliers.

Admittedly the nearest big box store is probably at least a 1.5 hour drive away, and the small towns near them likely have nothing larger than a Family Dollar.

But hey, if they can figure out a way to actually pull off what they are claiming they want to attempt, and are willing to spend money at some of the local shops (including the dispensary I know is in Naturita and no way they not smoking at this place), these loonies might be a net benefit to the local economy.
