A good friend of mine lost his fiance to a car accident, and a year later he decided he was trans and to try to make himself resemble his fiance. I told him to find better therapists. He was a veteran, had hated his tour and was hyper liberal after being in the military. Which was fine, at first. But then he became paranoid about Trump hunting down trans people. He kept changing himself. He asked me to call him by his new name, "Robin".
And I tried. I really tried to accept this. That this wasn't just self destructive craziness brought about by trauma he suffered. But I couldn't. I couldn't accept the lie. So I cut off contact. I just couldn't handle it, how he bought into this lie and cut ties with everyone who cared for him just for his own psychosis.
It felt like my friend had died. And I suppose he did.
Then my best friend dated some transgirl. He was all right but he was obviously of the "rich white boy looking for attention" group that it was hard to handle. I was polite and kind though.
But he was nuts. He made my best friend miserable with his mental illness. So they broke up. But even so my best friend just goes nuts when the subject of transexuals comes up. Can't make fun of them around him. Can't critique them. Nothing.
It's just insane.

I feel empathy for people who have gender dysphoria -- actual gender dysphoria -- and transition as a result; more power to those people. Being born in the wrong body must be terrible, and they have my empathy.
But the more I see and read of 99% of transgender people in the last decade or two? They're transgender because it's the "in" thing right now, or they have underlying mental illnesses (including schizophrenia), trauma (emotional/psychological), and delusions (which include denying their own orientation: "I can't be gay if I transition to become a woman!") that they think going trans will cure, like a magic fucking bullet.
All it leads to is misery, further delusions, and pain. Big Tech companies are doing their best to suppress it, but #DeTransAwarenessDay is becoming more noticeable/prominent in the last few years.
But, of course, you can't say anything openly because people will automatically screech that you're transphobic: It's the same deal with having no personal issues with gay, bi, or lesbian people but issues with the increasingly toxic and degenerative LGBTQIAKitchenFuckingSink community (and, yes: There are scores of examples, including gay parents being perfectly fine with their kids watching other gay couples fuck in the streets, calling it "beautiful").
No, I have no problems with the poor souls that have genuine GD and transitioned to help themselves, but I do have issues with trans-trenders and people thinking such extreme measures will cure their illnesses. They need help, not encouragement to mutilate themselves and drug themselves up.
And, of course, the sick fucks who try to push this heinous view on children, or allow children to stupidly swallow a fuck ton of hormones and chemicals without parental consent/with the support of the (shit) law.
It's going to lead to a sub-generation of mentally and physically damaged people/kids.
