Cancel Culture and Progressive Iconoclasm: The #Blackout Edition w/ extra "Guidance"

Thomas Jefferson statue removed from the New York City Hall after being there for 187 years because Jefferson owned slaves. The half ton statue had been there since 1833. The original plan was to remove the statue without press coverage or any sort of public notice but the New York Post annoyingly found out about the plan so it had to have a symbolic discussion briefly before Democrats decided to remove it over opposition.

Yeah that's the common comparison being tossed about lol.

But...

Did Satan ever own slaves?

I know of at least on prayer that would make me inclined to answer ‘yes’

Again have I the wretched one been tripped up in my mind by serving my evil and sinful habits. Again I am dragged as a captive by the prince of darkness and the father of passionate pleasure; and as a slave, humiliated by his will, he forces me to serve the desires of the flesh. And what am I to do, O Lord, redeemer and defender of all who hope in Thee, but to turn again to Thee and sigh and beg forgiveness for the things which I have done. But I fear and tremble that perhaps even though I confess daily and try to avoid harmful things, yet still I cease not to sin every hour, and fail to render my prayer to Thee, my God, I might yet incite Thy patience unto wrath. And who can bear Thine anger, O Lord? Wherefore, knowing the multitude of Thy compassions and the abyss of Thy love for mankind, again I throw myself upon Thy mercy, and I cry unto Thee, saying: I have sinned, O Lord; have mercy upon me, the fallen one. Grant unto me Thy hand in help, who am sunk in the pit of pleasures, and do not abandon me, O Lord, Thy servant, to be destroyed by mine iniquities and my sins. Rather, in Thy usual goodness, deliver me from the pollution and the stain of my flesh and from my passionate thoughts which in every way defile my miserable soul. Behold, O Lord my God, there is not even one place in it that is clean, but it is altogether leprous; my body is itself one great wound. Let Thou Thyself, therefore, as the healer of souls and the wellspring of life, cleanse my soul with tears which Thou shalt pour out upon me abundantly. Grant me healing and cleansing, and turn not Thy face from me, lest the darkness of despair consume me as fire. But as Thou Thyself, the all-true God, hast said that there is joy in heaven at the return of a sinner, close not the ears of Thy compassion against the prayer of my repentance, but open them unto me and direct my prayer before Thee as incense. Thou, the Creator, knowest the weakness of our nature, how easily we slip in our youth; yet Thou overlookest the sins and Thou acceptest the repentance of those who confess to Thee in truth. For Thou alone art sinless, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

For context this is part of a prayer of purity and repentance.

As if there was any doubt it would come to this.

Agree with @Abhorsen on this one Minnesota's flag with the seal is pretty bad but I also don't like its likeness with the other flag either. But in all fairness who am I to criticize? Minnesota is its own state and is aware enough to make its own decisions on what it thinks best represents itself what say do I have?

This is a way better flag, IMO. First, a seal is a shit flag: flags need to be disctinctive at a distance, and no seal flag is. The North star, the symbolized shape of the state, with the tricolor for sky, snow, and ground? It looks pretty good to me.

But it does look similar to that other flag though. Ugh...
Does the phrase ‘humiliation ritual’ mean nothing to you?

Fixing a flag from being a complete non impact into something representing the state ain't a humiliation ritual.

Basically, there are flags that are used with pride by regular people, enhancing culture. The Texan flag is a great example, as is the Alaskan and California and Chicago flags. No one wears a Minnesota flag. No one. Same for Massachusetts, for the same reason: it's a seal on blue. So if this had been done to one of those states, sure (especially Texas). But it was done to. A seal on blue state.

Getting a good symbol is a great step forward to revive self image. One way to do that is to fix the flag. And humiliation is a curious thing: somethings only humiliating if people know about it. This flag it's being compared to is so obscure I doubt anyone there is making the comparison. Also, the use of light shades of Blue and Green is unique to Minnesota. So overall, I don't think this in particular is likely a humiliation ritual, unless more evidence comes out.

Totally not the same as ISIS tearing down national history because it didn't fit their worldview.

Wonder if they'll at least put it in a museum or if they'll just destroy it like all those old Confederacy statues and artifacts they lied about preserving after removal?

If it is put in a museum at least it was used for history.
Everything should be remembered for the good or bad

the later thats how these people work.

but what goes around comes around and the anger is slowly getting organized and larger.

A seal on blue state.
Then there's the exception to the Seal on Blue: Virginia. You see our flag on stuff all over the Commonwealth, as well as shirts and stuff with it. It's not quite as prevalent as the other states, but it does help the Virginia seal is a bit on the simpler side while being very iconic...

Yeah, "sic semper tyrannis" and a naked breast will do a lot for a seal, I gotta say.

I'd put it as the exception proving the rule. Ideally, they'd have the only seal on blue flag in the US, so it stood out more.
