shrug It's getting to the point where China's going to get a metaphorical slap from someone. They keep pushing and pushing.

I don't know if it'll be the US or one of the regional Asian powers like Korea or Japan, but sooner or later their uppity, arrogant behavior is going to trigger something, even if it's just open season on Chinese "fishing" boats anywhere outside of China's internationally recognized waters.

Oh, a Chinese fishing fleet was seen in South Korean waters? What, those six fishing boats were just blown up by a South Korean naval vessel, killing thirty fishermen? Oh dear, how sad; nevermind.

And we all know that those thirty "fishermen" were likely not fishermen anyway.

Even Communist governments have historically shown the ability to recognize national borders and respect treaties.

I think that the Beijing regime has the same mental problem as the Washington DC Democrat regime: too much in their own bubble to understand, let alone respect, any boundaries or limitations on their political power. Can't actually do diplomacy, because that would require treating the other side as a party to be negotiated with.
So because they want some area of land to be part of Chinese territory, they will simply go ahead and act as if it is - and regard anyone who pushes back on that as being the aggressor.

i read few books written about modern China by people who teach english there.
According to all of them,people there really belive that China is centrum of world,and they had rights to do whatever they like.
Well,not them,but party leaders,but you get it.

I think,that it is mix of Mao communism and old pride.They would keep pusching,till they take over world,start WW3 ,or both.
It seems,that we are all fucked ,no matter what would happen.

To achieve that amount of smoke as a drill, you'd probably have to have the entire deck covered in barrels of some sort of fuel or oil that was on fire. However, given that it's coming from three distinct points, we can tell that the fire is inside the ship. Smoke causes damage to man-made objects, causing issues with things like electrical wiring and other sensitive items. Basically, if this was a drill, and they did the drill by lighting smoky flames inside the bowels of the ship, then they might as well have just sunk it. It'd have been cheaper.

Yes, China bought one of the Russian Aircraft Carrying Cruisers to have some sort of starting point. But that was years ago.
China IMO wisely went with CATOBAR not with stinking useless stupid ramps (yeah, RN QE in my books SUXXOR DA MAXXOR). But catapults are difficult. Especially electromagnetic ... the PLAN took a VERY ambitious route. I suppose that enough time and throwing money will produce a working system ... or maybe not ...
