What makes Columbus such a sacred cow? Why on Earth should I admire him as opposed to Bartolomé de Las Casas, who had a literal come to Jesus moment after witnessing atrocities being inflicted upon the natives and chose to spend the rest of his life trying to protect them?

I mean, just look at what Biden is saying about black people. Democratic racism isn't the type that hates black people, but the type that thinks them inferior and needing of help. There's been studies that show that democrats talk using less complex words with black people, frequently they end up infantilizing black people with there rhetoric, etc. And that's just against black people.

It's called "soft bigotry of low expectations"

I’m sure there are people who would do that, and I pity them. If they’re waiting for someone to put forward a man or woman without sin, then they’re going to be disappointed, because no such creature has existed. Not even Jesus, if you consider what he did to that poor fig tree a sin.

I’ll have to look that up, then. I’ve been trying to keep away from politics for ~the last decade out of concern for my health; if I hadn’t been voluntarily living under a rock and only occasionally poking my head out then I’d probably be a giant mass of ulcers by now.

They pulled down statues of Fredrick Douglas. Escaped slave and arguably the Father of civil rights for blacks. Also Lincoln Grant and a slew of abolishnests don't be naive. The removal of statues has jack all to do with racism. It's about the destruction of America wholesale.

Who's "they"? The mobs tearing down statues have not been even remotely subtle, while everything I can find about the incident says no one knows who did it since the vandalism happened in the dead of night.

It was also torn down on the anniversary of a speech he made in 1852, which could easily be taken as evidence it was retaliation for all the other statues being toppled. That sounds more plausible to me than an outrage mob suddenly learning the fine art of stealth.

It isn't the right of God to rebuke something that is not serving the purpose that pleases Him?

If you don't think Jesus was God, then it's just a dude pissed because he didn't get what he wanted. If you do, then He's God; it's His right to say whether or not the tree has failed in its purpose or not.
