Personally, I believe that blacklisting one candidate of the demonrats is a proportionate response to this.

They seem to think the court of public opinion carries legal weight.
They were trying the same shit with the people in AZ, and they just threw out that case, so MTG can likely appeal to a higher court.
She never incited violence on Jan 6th, that is another smear job acted on as is legal reality, like the Trump/Russia hoax, and frankly MTG could reasonably plead her case all the way to SCOTUS with the decision in AZ countering the decision this judge made against her.
Trying to remove a sitting politicians ability to run based on an outdated, and already superseded, piece of the 14th Amendment meant for dealing with Confederate officers (which was nullified not long after it was enacted, something those pushing this want the public and judges to ignore) is just such a fucking farce and miscarriage of justice.
It's a political Rittenhouse trial, where the DAs and people pushing it know they have no case, but are hoping manufactured outrage ginned up by a corrupt media and lying Dem politicians will give them enough cover to get it through.
If this case succeeds in forcing out MTG, political problems in this nation will exponentially increase, because it will show that it doesn't matter even if the ballot box is made trust worthy again, because if the person you elect has the wrong opinions according to the mass media and establishment, they will simply be barred from running again via lies and political pressure on judges. They already tried this with Trump, and when they could not get it to stick with him, they decided to try it on others who don't have his resources, or legal protections as a former POTUS, and MTG is a big target for them.

First, there is absolutely zero chance this is going to be held by a democrat. This isn't a "kicking out a popular moderate so you can win situation".
Second, MTG is honestly helping the Dems more than the Republicans, in much the same way that Ilhan Omar is a boon to the Republicans. Crazies on the other side are useful. And she is perceived as a crazy ever since the Jewish Space Lasers (no, I don't care if it's real or not, optics doesn't care).
So if the democrats win, congrats, they allowed the Republicans to have an effective PR windfall by not having a somewhat legitimately attackable person while also complaining about unfair tactics from Democrats. And the republicans have so few legitimate targets, which is good. They know how to play this part of the game, they just take it too far and apologize for anything.
But if the Democrats lose, then MTG just wins again.
They can't seem to think more than one step ahead anymore.

Green actually is very helpful to the republicans because she will sit down at every fucking lawmaking meeting and call for a general vote. So instead of a mock meeting where 10 democrats tell the republicans to eat ass because were getting our way so suck it. Instead every one gets called up for each and every little thing and stuff gets shafted.
Establishment republicans hate it because they actually have to do their fucking jobs, but the dems really hate it because they don't always get their way.
She does good work just doing that alone.
If they really want her, they can still have her, though, is my point. It would also be a good way to raise the middle finger at the Democrats.
Frankly, we can't let it happen because it's a step that no side should be allowed to take.
No one knows what will be the straw that breaks the camals back, the thing that will start the politics of revenge. I however doubt this will be the end of it.
This. I really, really don't want this to happen. I don't like MTG, but this isn't how things should be done at all.
