EU Euro Madness

Actually, one thing I read (I think in NR or else it was the WSJ) is that this crisis is actually likely to lead to a resurgence in religiosity. The old saying of “you never find an atheist in a foxhole” is also true when it comes to major crises. So I’d expect pushback in Europe rather than simple acceptance. Likewise, the AfD in Germany keeps making gains, to the point where liberal publications are calling for the CDU/CSU to make grand coalitions with parties like the SPD and the Greens in order to keep the AfD out of power...except that nothing gets done because the coalitions really can’t agree on much beyond the status quo (which more and more Germans dislike) is pushing people towards the AfD.

This isn’t an endorsement so much as a “Europeans aren’t necessarily the sheep you might think.” Even Kratman in his afterword acknowledged that. And it was written well before the resurgence in populism we started to see in 2015.

I do think people are more likely to look at this and say “those promoting open borders and unblinking acceptance of cultural differences are idiots” since the whole wet market thing is a Chinese cultural thing, but also a public health threat. And uncontrolled borders would make it even more difficult to clamp down on outbreaks, etc.

And caused a great deal of damage to the family unit.

Ehh, welfare in general did that. And I think that had a lot to do with the same reasons it ultimately led to the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Because individuals incentivized immiseration and destitution.

What do you get when you combine no-go zones and quarantine?
Now we know thanks to France - the answer is "no quarantine".

...holy fuck but they're in even worse shape than the Frogs themselves?

Man, even following their own warped logic that immigrants come first, how does letting an astoundingly unhealthy population with a serious problem with compromised immune systems due to inbreeding, metabolic issues and drug addiction run wild help them at all? How does that shield them from racism or whatever?

It does protect the government from having to deal with a huge riot in a time when resources (and numbers in polls) are scarce to begin with.

Just to make sure, you’re talking about Tom Kratman? Or some other Kratman

Yes, I am. Owing to the fact that I need new reading material and certain other boards like to complain about him, I figured I’d order Caliphate and read it (what can I say, I’m a fast reader :) ).

Honestly, while I think he raises some valid points, it also doesn’t take into account the refugee crisis caused by the EU, and the massive pushback we’ve seen since. I honestly think that if the pressure keeps up, we’re more likely to see a nationalistic Germany rather than an Islamicized (?) one. Not quite Third Reich levels, but enough that it’ll have everyone side-eyeing Germany suspiciously.

I honestly find that there are new/old political parties that even included Lefties getting really pissed to be rather strange yet believable

It sorta helps that I think that other migrants and non-Western nations would have issues with them, no need for the USA to threaten war either

I mean look at Japan, years back I heard about ONE muslim migrant raped a senior citizen, it resulted in him being arrested and deported

The moment even Lefties and non-whites join in is the moment you realise that it’s not just the conservative stereotypes who will get pissed and a reminder that yeah, this “diverse” & “multicultural” society can still occur, if only because they have lots of similarities and a shared vision

Italy is becoming more and more pissed at the EU -- Spain, too. Greece is at the end of their tether with Turkey, and the old Eastern Bloc countries and Austria are openly saying "fuck you" to Germany and Brussels.

I'll laugh my goddamn arse off if this all causes Italy and Spain to pull a Brexit. 🤔 The EU is in severe existential trouble.

I wonder, what will relations between Brexit-esque European nations be with African, Middle Eastern & Muslim-dominated(especially ones with Sharia Law & rather backwards values)be after this?

If even Leftists are giving up on the dream or going “only for us, not them” and possibly lots of old hidden reports about their crimes being revealed

I can see lots of growing xenophobia

Sure, but Step One was Social Security. It all flows from there.

Replace it with private charities & “missionaries” who will convert them either to Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism, Protestantism etc

Or guys who will give out education and teach them at the same time WHY communism is BAD for longterm societies

I can see it, to be honest.

Tribalism is a part of human nature, from the micro-scale (friends and family) to macro (nations, cultural-identity/values, et cetera), and it's reflected in current behavioral patterns.

We're still shit-flinging apes -- we just use a Windows 10 version of the OS in our wetware, and globalists completely forget or purposely ignore this fact.

Well, Italy is going to be really interesting to watch in the next few months:
Locals are now burning European Union flags, and Italian politicians are ramping up the talk about getting the heck out of the European Union altogether. I suspected this was going to happen during the Italian balcony singing event, noting that most of the songs sung were classical Italian songs, not global pop hits.

The horror has since increased in that country and here's what's now going around on Twitter:
This is serious for EU. Italy one of 4 big nation states including U.K. https://t.co/PK3WPjpyIl
— David C Bannerman (@DCBMEP) March 29, 2020
People all over Italy are burning EU flags while playing the Italian anthem and posting videos of it with the hashtag #cisalviamodasoli which translates to 'we save ourselves'

Italy has been hit horrifically by Coronavirus and the European union are still demanding payments pic.twitter.com/fqd1FGzPyw

The discontent has boiled right into the halls of the European Union, which one Italian pol is calling "a den of snakes and jackals," calling for an "Italexit" or an Italian pullout from the European Union altogether.
There's quite a bit of bitterness -- and it's quite sparsely reported, the most reliable source of which is the pro-Brexit Express of London:

Here's March 29, today:
The coronavirus pandemic has sparked an unprecedented crisis throughout the European Union, with a huge rift erupting between the 27 member-states. This week's failure to agree a joint EU economic response to the crisis has already set off a wave of furious criticism from leaders in Italy, Portugal and Spain. On Thursday, Germany, the Netherlands and other northern European countries rejected the plea of nine EU countries for so-called "corona-bonds" to soften the economic impact of the pandemic.
Following the heated exchanges, Italian newspaper headlines condemned the EU response, describing Brussels as "dead" and "ugly".
Former Italian Prime Minister and main opposition leader Matteo Salvini said Italy should consider leaving the European Union once the country wins its fight against the outbreak.
On Friday he tweeted: “First let's beat the virus, then think about Europe again. And, if necessary, say goodbye. Without even thanking it."
What the Italians have learned in this instance is that globalization, as personified by the European Union, has failed. In their hour of need, they're getting aid from places like Albania, Russia and Cuba, not their big EU neighbors. Oh, the Germans did send in a jet the other day for grave cases to be taken to Germany for treatment - but the plane houses 44. It's unlikely to make much difference given what Italy is up against.

I mean, its precisely why they want a European army. To be able to keep the rebellious nations in line.

Not that they've been very successful in that regard thankfully.

What this does show is the discrediting of the European project-after all where is the solidarity towards Italy?

If the reasons behind this weren't so tragic/horrifying, I'd be laughing at seeing the EU crumble like this.

Their/Germany's true nature has been exposed, and outside of the blind Europhiles, it's undeniable. The Virus has basically sped up the EU's collapse from five--ten years to two, maybe three at most.

At the end of the day I think the primary blame for the EUs collapse firmly belongs to Angela merkel. Her legacy for europe will be one of economic destruction desperation poverty and social unrest.
