Hardly the next generation leaning to the right is irrelevant if the left seizes political power now. Then uses said power to crush the next generations freedom before they can even exercise their own opinions. Which is precisely what they intend to do and they openly admit to do just that.
The political power that matters most was already siezed, and has been seized for a long time. This is a battle about taking it back from the establishment (i.e. RINOs and DINOs) and the left.
You assume that there has been a fight, and that the rounds matter. First, comparing politics to a fight is simply wrong. Politics does not operate like a fight at all. There are pendulum swings, where winning too much hurts you. Appealing to the middle is a viable strategy. The two parties, who you claim are in a fight, are actually composed each of 2 parts, an anti-establishment and establishment part, and the establishment parts are also on each others side.
The rounds are not scored at all. For example, the right had total social, cultural, and political control after 9/11 and wasted it all on a war in Iraq and the PATRIOT act.
But let's say we accept that politics is a fight. The right and left have not been fighting for a long time, but instead quietly agreeing that they hate civil liberties.
What you don't understand is that this is the first time the right has actually fought back against what the establishment actually wants in my lifetime. And so for the first time, you are seeing pushback from the establishment, and you are thinking you are losing.
That's not true. Unjust arrests? Bullshit charges? Assassinations of prominent political figures? All of that is normal is a successful struggle vs the establishment. If they aren't doing that, you aren't actually resisting anything they care about.
