facepalm.And to further give justice to the complexity, going too far in the "good" direction can also bring bad results - the slavery discussion going too far means Haiti or leftist reparation and "anti racism" discussions of today's leftist campuses, while the movement against executions went so far that not even the worst of traitors and foreign enemies fear anything, they have to be unlucky to get any meaningful punishment at all and act with appropriate boldness as a result.
abolition of slavery is not a slippery slope into "anti" (reversed) racism.
slavery is not even a racist institute. every race and every nation before recent times practiced explicit slavery (explicit as in, they admit and openly call it as such).
even in the usa you had black slave owners, and white slaves.
The notion that all whites were owners and all blacks were slaves is fictitious blood libel used to justify the ongoing genocide of caucasians.
