Let's say Poland was invaded and occupied by Germany would you rather have the occupiers be the 2nd reich(German Empire) or the 3rd reich the Nazis?

I think most would prefer Imperial Germany because while sure you might be treated badly and Germans favored, at least you can accept German culture and assimilate and you or your kids can get the bennefits of being a citizen and not be 2nd class. While with the Nazis you can't choose to join if your ethnic background is not what they consider pure.

Genocide is part intent part scale, normal warfare may kill a good chunk of a population but still not be a genocide. Russia commits a lot of war crimes beyond the limits of normal warfare, hence they get hit with accusations. especially with deporting hundreds of thousands to millions. That's a statistically significant portion of the population of territories occupied by Russia.
However, in case of Palestine, considering the population trends... if this is genocide, then it is the most incompetent genocide in history as the supposed genocidal actions don't even make a meaningful dent in the Palestinian population growth, with Gaza City itself increasing in population 12 times since Israel's founding. What fucking genocide, we are talking few thousands, low tens of thousands of dead civilians at most, even though Israel would have the technical capacity to increase that by an order of magnitude at least.

I was just bringing up what that guy said, that if the rate goes up eventually IT COULD BE a genocide. I don't think that Israel is doing a genocide, I brought that up because the total number of dead does not matter. For instance if we went to a country that had a population of 100,000 and killed 10,000 people that could be a genocide. Yet if we went to China which has billions of people and killed 100,000 people in a war that would probably not be genocide.

Again stop trying to divert the discussion with terrible analogies.
The problems Poland had with Nazi occupation wasn't that Poles couldn't join it, it's that they it was scheming for serfdom/genocide of Polish nation.
Poland in fact was occupied by German Empire and forcibly assimilated, and i'm pretty sure that occupation would be less hated if they didn't do that.
However if the choice is between being occupied and second class citizens but allowed to keep practicing and perpetuating their national culture, vs being occupied and forcibly assimilated, i think the latter option is worse and constitutes cultural genocide, and the former doesn't.
So in reality its not a choice between these two specific options that come with occupation, there are several other ones.

Even then, numbers alone matter little. A country could go full total war and fight until it loses 50%, yet that would not be genocide if it was merely a side effect of having to fight them with legitimate tactics until the end. No, a country doesn't get to make itself the ultimate human shield of "either you let us win or we will force you to keep killing us until you become guilty of genocide so that the whole world has to get mad at you". OTOH if you are sending masses of them to death camps or death marches, that's at least attempted genocide.
