Hamas Launches Offensive Against Southern Israel

My guess is that they are trying to figure out how to launch w/out just getting pasted while they setup.

I'm guessing almost all, if not all, of their prepared and hidden positions have been used and lost.
I'm not sure how big a set up you need for a Shahed, but it doesn't seem like it would need to be huge or even in place all that long.

There's a third CSG that may come into play as well. The Carl Vinson is in Singapore, per Sub Brief, which means it would be real easy for it to head west and join the Eisenhower off the Arabian Peninsula.

It actually varies. They do have larger rockets but most of the stuff is very small and hand portable. Take moments to setup

first 4 minutes is their bigger rigs.
after the 4 minute mark you see the hand portable seconds to setup rigs.

New info about the hostages accidentally killed by the IDF.

Sounds like they were likely killed after Hamas killed the canine sent to record/view them. I think someone likely forgot to set the GoPro to record, rather than transmit, or expected the dog to make it back.

Maybe they figured when the dog was killed, the hostages were likely going to die rather soon after that anyway.

I think there is another factor at play here, besides Palestinians being Palestinians - there is a... cultural aversion to dogs in the Islamic world(for example, there are many documented instances of dog mistreatment in the centuries after the Islamic conquest of Persia; previously, Zoroastrians had held dogs in high esteem).
Number 1 reason I will never truly accept islam.

I can give up pork.
I cannot give up man's best friend

I found this interesting write up by an ex-muslim who cites a bunch of sources for Islam's stance on dogs.

Islam is nothing more than the military doctrine of an Arab warlord known as Muhammad who was only able to rise to power due to a power vaccum. Had the Eastern Romans and Persian's not bled each other white he would have been crushed and remembered as just another obscure barbarian warlord.

He also had the "advantage" of sheer barbarity.
His opponents simply never believed anyone could be so savage.
They kept on assuming he would adhere to customs, to basic human decency, to his own promises. And on top of that all they lacked the guts to face someone so madly cruel. assuming someone else would step up and stop him. But nobody did. As he tore through one tribe after another.

No, it was awful for 700AD desert nomads.
They had a decent civilization going on before muhammad kicked over the entire thing

The various civilizations in the Middle-East were doing pretty well, then Islam came'a'knockin' and kicked those sandcastles down, but when they rebuilt their societies they did have a Golden Age.

The problem is that those societies were built on shifting sands and were inherently unstable because Islam is destructively expansionistic. Once they couldn't expand by the sword anymore, and once they came up against opponents which were actually kicking their teeth in (e.g. the Mongols, the unifying Christian nations in Europe), they collapsed like a wet house of cards.

At least they preserved Greek and Roman medical texts, and they did make strides in treating mental health/encouraging sanitation, but, well, shifting sands.

Their golden age literally only started when they conquered Constantinople.
Inheriting rome's greatness.
It was not caused by islam, it was Roman greatness that happened despite islam. And islam has been grinding down what they conquered from day 1.

roman and greek texts were saved by Caliphs long ago before turks take Constantinopole - but,you are right, that those Caliphs did it against Koran teaching.

Burning Alexandria Library was something which was logical for muslims - if books say the same as Koran, they are no needed, and if they say something else, they are bad.
In both cases should be burned.

Althought,to be honest, part of books was burned ewarlier by romans.
