You are aware you can be a strategically pro-Israel person without being a seething retarded Zionist, yes? If Bibi pisses Trump off I am sure he will take action to put pressure on him to stop whatever it is he is doing, unlike Biden. What a classic, are you implying he's not a zionist but is letting them control his Israel policy regardless?
Emily Damari, 28, was taken hostage after being kidnapped from her home on 7 October 2023 by Hamas gunmen who shot her in the hand and leg, as well as killing her pet dog.
While on the phone call with her mother, Emily told the prime minister she had been held for some time in United Nations facilities belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) but was not given access to medical facilities.
An out-of-date bottle was all that was supplied to her, she said, despite losing two fingers on her left hand, and carrying the unhealed wound in her leg.
The pair asked Sir Keir to put maximum pressure on Hamas and UNRWA to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to finally have access to the 82 remaining hostages still being held in the territory.
Writing on X after the phone call, her mother Mandy Damari said: "Hamas held Emily in UNRWA facilities and denied her access to medical treatment after shooting her twice. It's a miracle that she survived, and we need to get aid to remaining hostages now."
On the call, the prime minister asked about Emily's condition after her return.
Mandy replied that she "seems to be doing pretty well psychologically" although she had a long road ahead of her with her physical injuries.
In a statement to Sky News, UNRWA said: "We at UNRWA are relieved that hostages have been released. We hope all other will be released too.
"It is also a relief that Ms Damari has finally been reunited with her family.
"Claims that hostages have been held in UNRWA premises, even if previously vacated, are very serious.
"We have repeatedly called for independent investigations into claims of misuse and disregard of UN premises by Palestinian armed groups, including Hamas."
Emily was released on Sunday 19 January, alongside fellow female hostages Romi Gonen, 24, and 31-year-old Doron Steinbrecher, as part of the opening phase of a Gaza ceasefire deal, which has continued this month with more captives being freed in return for Palestinian prisoners being released. A further three Israeli hostages set to be released on Saturday have been named by Hamas.
Ofer Kalderon, Keith Samuel Siegel and Yarden Bibas will be released, Hamas armed wing spokesperson Abu Obeida said.
Yarden was kidnapped alongside his wife, Shiri Babas, and their two sons, four-year-old Ariel and 10-month-old Kfir.
He is believed to be the only family member left alive - in November 2023, Hamas said his wife and children had died in an Israeli airstrike before the current ceasefire.
I think this basically confirms without a shadow of a doubt the UN is compromised by Islamists. How many UN workers are Islamists? 100s? 1000s? We may never know. Maybe I think a big part of why extremist Islamists are able to use UNRWA aid to smuggle weapons or use facilities for their own purposes is that the UNRWA itself can't really protect itself. When they're in Gaza to deliver aid, they are at the mercy of Hamas. What is an aid worker supposed to do when Hamas demands they hand over supplies or facilities, or makes any other demand? Should they say no? It could end up like in Yemen where the Houthis are holding over 80 people hostage who work with the UN or other aid organizations. In the worst-case scenario, they could be killed, and it would be blamed on Israeli bombings.I think this basically confirms without a shadow of a doubt the UN is compromised by Islamists. >infiltrateMaybe I think a big part why extrem Islamist is able to use UNRWA aid to smuggle weapons or use facilities for their own use is that UNRWA organization can’t really protect them self. Because when there in Gasa to deliver things they are at the mercy of Hamas what’s an aid worker to do when Hams says they are taking the suppliers/facilities or any other demand, say no? Then it will probably be like in Yemen with Houthis who is holding over 80 people hostage who work with UN or other aid organizations. Or worst case senario is that they are killed and it’s blamed on Israel bombings.
Then again it’s probably not that hard to infiltrate aid organizations to begin with.
Source: OPBHamas released three more Israeli hostages Saturday, as a fragile ceasefire deal between the Hamas and Israel continued to hold into a fourth week.
Eliyahu Sharabi, 52, Or Levy, 34, and Ohad Ben Ami, 56 – three male civilians – were handed over by Hamas militants to the International Committee of the Red Cross in the southern Gaza city of Deir al Balah surrounded by crowds of onlookers. Unlike previous handovers, the hostages, flanked by heavily armed gunmen, made statements before the crowd. The three men appeared gaunt and pale after 16 months in captivity.
The images of the men provoked shock and drew swift condemnation in Israel.
"This hell cannot go on any longer!" Einav Zangauker, mother of an Israeli still being held hostage, said in a video posted on X. "The three who returned today are Holocaust survivors."
She accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of obstructing negotiations over further hostage releases.
In a statement, Netanyahu noted the men's condition and vowed to take "appropriate actions."
The men appeared to be in worse condition than previous hostages that Hamas released. It was not known where they had been held during months of war that devastated large areas of the Gaza Strip and caused severe shortages of food.
Israel released more than 180 Palestinian prisoners and detainees in return, in the fifth such exchange, including some that are serving life sentences for attacks on Israelis.
Seven of the Palestinians sent to the Israeli-occupied West Bank were taken to hospital upon their release, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society. One had injuries from a severe beating, while others were treated for malnourishment and fatigue, Ahmed Jibril, a spokesperson for the organization, told NPR.
More than 100 of those released were sent to Gaza, while some who had been serving life sentences were to be deported to neighboring Egypt.
Also Friday, Hamas accused Israel of reneging on the terms of the agreement, amid signs that the ceasefire agreement was fraying, alleging that Israel had not allowed certain humanitarian aid — like shelters, debris removal equipment, and fuel — into Gaza that it says are needed for reconstruction efforts.
Israel's military released a statement saying that it had deployed troops at several points in the Gaza Strip and were "ready in defense."
The three civilian men were taken hostage on Oct. 7, 2023 in the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel that killed some 1,200 people and during which around 250 people were taken hostage.
There are still 76 hostages — both civilians and soldiers — being held in Gaza, many of whom are believed to be dead, according to Israel.
Hamas announced on Monday it would stop releasing Israeli hostages until further notice over what it said were Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement.
In reply, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said Hamas had violated the ceasefire agreement with its announcement and said that he had instructed the military to prepare at the highest level of readiness in Gaza and to defend Israeli communities.
Abu Ubaida, a spokesperson for Hamas' military wing, said that since the ceasefire came into effect on January 19, Israel had delayed allowing displaced Palestinians from returning to northern Gaza, targeted Gazans with military shelling and gunfire and had stopped relief materials entering the territory.
The ceasefire has largely held over the past three weeks, although there have been some incidents where Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire. The flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza has increased since the ceasefire, aid agencies say.
Ubaida said Hamas would not release any more hostages until Israel "complies and compensates for the past weeks".
Source: The Times of Israel. The Prime Minister's Office says of the hostages' release: "We welcome them with a big embrace. We have prepared for their return, and together with their families, we will assist in their rehabilitation after the long and agonizing days in captivity."
It adds: "This week too, Hamas attempted to violate the agreement and create a false crisis with baseless claims. Thanks to the deployment of our forces inside and around Gaza, and thanks to President Trump's clear and unequivocal statement, Hamas backed down, and the release of the hostages continued.
"We are working in full coordination with the United States to rescue all our hostages — both the living and the fallen — as quickly as possible, and we are fully prepared for what comes next, in every respect."
Where are the rest? Release them all.Three Israeli hostages have been released by Hamas, The Times of Israel reports.
CNN said:Among those released were said to be the bodies of Shiri Bibas, who was aged 32 when she and her sons Ariel, 4, and Kfir, 9 months, were abducted from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, southern Israel by Hamas-led militants more than 16 months ago. The two boys have become the most recognizable victims of the October 7 terror attacks.
I think the bombing will commence again.Forensic examination determined that the children were murdered by Hamas, the coffin supposedly containing the mother wasn't her, just a random person
I think the point is that it was so horrific that it shocked even the most fundamentalist of Muslims. Hamas is really a special kind of fucked in the way ISIS and the Taliban are.I do not belive in good wahabbits from Saudi Arabia.Hamas murdering prisoners - as plausible as jews killing them by mistake.
If Trump lets Bibi continue cluster-bombing toddlers then the cycle of terrorism will begin again as well.I think the bombing will commence again.
This was going to happen as soon as Hamas felt they had the weapons/incentive too. They've already been calling for more attacks. If Trump lets Bibi continue cluster-bombing toddlers then the cycle of terrorism will begin again as well.
And this is why I have to criticize US foreign policy, because the US has the capability and the means to carry out SEAL Team Six-type decapitation raid strikes. Why didn't Biden step in and rectify the situation when he had the chance? I'm sure Trump will do something about it but how long will we have to wait? The US is being derelict in its duty as world hegemon in my opinionThis was going to happen as soon as Hamas felt they had the weapons/incentive too.
