Demonstrable bullshit. The Netherlands are known for being a tax haven, albeit one that isn't obvious about it. If a billionaire is exceedingly stupid, he'd have to pay that official percentage. If he puts his money in a fund or a corporation, however, he pays less than half a percent.

Which is why quite a few rich parties keep their fortune in the Netherlands-- including, for instance, the Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger pays practically no taxes, because his money is officially in Amsterdam.

Probably politics.
They originally planned a large number of them, but the Democrats reduced the number, which made them individually too expensive to justify.
Almost as if the clown-in-chief was a not-so-secret Gay Communist Muslim or something who didn't want the USA to have good weapons.
IIRC, the training birds for the F-22 fleet got wrecked by a hurricane a couple years back, so they cannot really train new pilots for them, and the new NGAD means building more F-22s from scratch to make up for the losses is not going to be considered.
Obama ordered production stopped.

One of the most blatantly anti-American acts of his administration.
This too; we might have the ability to produce more, but Obama ordered it stopped and who knows how much tooling and production logistics are still intact.

He outright ordered the tooling destroyed.

One person I know who worked in the aerospace industry said that he ordered the plans destroyed as well, but Lockheed-Martin refused. I'm not so clear on whether or not that actually happened.

Production was cut under Bush, then it lost supporters and money was needed to fund the War on Terror and other projects. Plus the F-35 was coming into production so the Air Force decided to focus on that. And later on it was decided it would cost to much to restart production and the Air Force also decided to concentrate on producing a Sixth Gen fighter.
