For all that fact-checking is worth these days.
Dude probably shouldn't have said anything.
I find it kind of funny though, that we quote Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and some of the worst humans in history casually. Yet some two-bit white supremacist that no one's heard of taints a valid observation.

Also, stupidity so great it is indistinguishable from malice should be treated as malice.
Timeline doesn't fit for that scenario. If they did it now, maybe. But in 2008? When there was no method of tracking even coming down the pike? 20 years prior to the shut down codes? Time doesn't work.
No, instead this was simple corruption. Dems wanted to benefit their union workers by keeping their jobs.

they were very open about this. clunkers, in their own words, are slightly older cars who do not meet their latest emissions standards for carbon dioxide.

That stupid program completely destroyed the used car market and damaged car dealerships and salvage as a whole.
They destroyed the traded in cars. So stupid.
So many places went out of business and part prices went way up.

It was about jobs. Few or no politicians actually believes in green stuff. They believe in votes though.
Wasn't stupid. The destruction of the used car market was the entire point, as it jacked prices. It was completely intentional and smart. The side benefit of fucking over poor people is a bonus as well to the Dems, as poor people vote D.

Given they've repeatedly shown themselves incapable of it? Yes. They aren't great at planning. In fact, the dems have never been good at planning, and that's why they are winning. There was no great long term plan in the long march through the institutions. Just a simple, individually incentivized approach: become a professor (because that's the only job in my field), then teach socialism (because that's all I know). A drop of water doesn't need a complex plan to ruin you basement, just the knowledge of "what way gets me lower faster" and your house being at the bottom of the hill.
