Eh... on one hand, DW is a leftist shill propaganda newspaper, but on the flip side, Putin did indicate (and perhaps even outright state) that he saw disbandment of the Soviet Union as a mistake:
If the above is correct, he definitely would want to conquer the Baltic states.
He openly declared in his national addresses multiple times on State TV; that he would rebuild the Slavic Glory that was the Soviet Union and March all the way to London and Washington if necessary.

He's already been invading the former SSRs recently. His puppet presidents expanded Transnistria 15 years ago and threatened Moldava and Romania into accepting it or staying silent or he'd cut off their energy supply. Putin and the CCP has always been clear on their end goal. Global Hegemon. Putin thought he'd be on top. While China as always in the last 5000 years only ever intended for the Barbarians (Russia and us the West and its allies and clients) to weaken each other in an open war. Allowing China to take control. It's the same playbook China has always had. Bribery, coercion, assassination of outsiders to sow instability and collapse. Ripe for conquest.

That's the one thing about mainland Chinese the Soviets have always been blind to. In Chinese eyes the Soviets are also barbarians to be subjugated if useful, or subjected to genocide if they become troublesome.

That playbook applies to everyone not Han or the wrong kind of Han.

Just watch if the Russians lose enough men and equipment in Ukraine they'll lose the Far East to a Chinese "Peacekeeping Operation. "

Yeah, but if the Chinese gain even more resources it's hardly a good thing. They also have better opportunity to develop them, with greater industry and man power than Russia.

China under the CCP is an anomoly compared to how its operated traditionally.

For most of their history the chinese have been a pretty honorable people, if some times rather arrogant (considering how far behind the rest of the world was for much of their history their arrogance was at times very justified). Get rid of the CCP and install some one more intune with China's traditional ethical system and I wouldn't mind them having those resources.

Yeah, I'd probably be much more sanguine about the future if they switched to something less totalitarian and less internationally aggressive. As is though, it would be a problem and personally I don't see much likelihood of regime change either natural or forced any time soon.

I'm going to disagree with you on that.

The current CCP has centralized all power into a singular person and he's killed the messenger so many times that people are not bringing him news anymore. Their demographic situation is absolute shit right now, their entire economy is enrone to the 9th degree. Their covid shut downs scared the absolute shit out of the big companies and their leaving in droves, they have more or less managed to successfully piss off all of their neighbors with wolf warrior diplomacy and on top of it their lockdowns were so bad that they inspired nationwide protests dispite the fact that the chinese know damned well what would happen to them.

There are so many bullets heading the CCPs direction right now that its structurally impossible for them to dodge them all. This is on top of the fact that their foundation was purposefully anti chinese culture and the host of all of the major grievances that have been bubbling up for generations.

In the long term their fucked, they may not survive the decade, but the end of the CCP is not the end of china and I look forward to seeing them reclaim their rightful culture and traditions.

Well, I certainly hope you're right but personally I have doubts. No doubt there's issues, I just don't think they'll necessarily lead to any significant positive change in their government. I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and wait and see.

Who said anything about positive change to the government? The current issues, which the totalitarian state cannot address, will end up crashing the People's Republic with no survivors. Suppressing problems do not make them go away.

What China looks like after communism, who knows. But I do know China is not a historically democratic country...oh well. Even a return to the Emperors would make a less intrusive state than what they have now.

To be honest China's had some pretty good emperors.

Some pretty bad ones too, but that's just monarchy for you. There's bad apples in any system.

Question is, who could realistically claim the dragon throne by this point? I know Mao strangely showed mercy to the last of the Qing, but they were always seen as foreign barbarians and thus not very popular.

What happened to the BaiYue, the Bo, the Northern Viet, and many other tribes in what is now China? Those traditional values led to their genocide and the forced genetic assimilation of surviving women with Han men. Traditional Confucian society was, a rigid, strict tyrannical caste system that regimented your day based on your station in society. Everything was policed by Imperial Officials from your clothing, the food you were allowed to buy, to if and when you could have sex with your wife. Farmers growing crops reserved for higher station citizens were forbidden from eating those crops. A myriad of draconian laws that had two outcomes maiming or death. Dependent on your family's station among your caste and the wealth you had available.

Confucian China would only be horrified at CCP China's atheism, lack of traditional finial piety and its mostly uneducated and mostly illiterate upper class. The lack of a Son of Heaven would be the most damning fact against the CCP.

On topic of the war. Here's how far Russia's military production has fallen. An English translation and analysis of a State TV broadcast three days ago.

A majority of the Dutch population is against EU membership of Ukraine. Now their government wants to enslave said Dutch to die for Ukraine. It’s unstated if Blackrock will take their land after they’ve finished being ethnically cleansed off it by their own government forcing them into the path of Russian artillery, so I’m forced to assume it will.
That has got to be the most ridiculously overstated exaggeration of what an article actually says by a hyperlink that I have ever seen... 6-12 months of conscription that you can choose to serve doing social welfare, and enslaved fighting in a war that has so far killed 2(?) Dutch volunteers are not exactly the same thing. In the same way that a chicken and a bulldozer aren't exactly the same thing.

As for the first link, it simply says that the Dutch government has so far opposed Ukrain joining, and seems to link it with an earlier statement that some countries are opposed to fast tracking Ukraine over earlier existing applicants.

Maybe your post is meant to be humorous or satirical? I never really did get Dutch humour when I lived there.

Well... It was pretty strongly implied by @Cherico's post? If the change isn't positive, it's hardly relevant to the idea that China gobbling up eastern Russia and its resources is bad. Also, you finish your own post by saying "even" X outcome would be "less instrusive" which I would consider a positive change. Using "even" as you did would suggest either you think it's a less likely outcome, or that you think it's a less good outcome. Either way, it would seem that a perfectly valid answer to the question "
Who said anything about positive change to the government?
would be "You."

Oh, a wee bit of a hyperbole ... :p
Raging clickbait, though :D
I somehow imagine the Dutch military to be in same sorry state* as the Bundeswehr - if not worse - hence the idea of Dutch slave-soldiers making a difference gave me a chuckle.

* if I'm wrong I'm sorry and I appologise for the disrespect.
But my perceptions are coloured - in the 1980s my first contact with the Landmacht was information that male(!) soldiers working around moving machiery are advised (ordered?) to wear hairnets ...

I have theory which explain current silly war.

Why kgbstan fight like idiots, and why USA do not send enough weapons for them to win ?

Becouse both sides work for Schalb and other bankster elites, and their goal is to finish both kgbstan and Ukraine - making any right wing party compromised ,so everybody would vote for woke idiots.
Two birds with one stone.

Silly theory. Russians fight like that because they can't fight better. Ukraine never had any special significance for Schwab, and for the establishment, only after Russia got involved.
It does however have a lot of special significance for Putin and all the other orphans of Russian/Soviet empire.

Why USA doesn't send more weapons? They have the same bureaucratic and "deescalation" political faction Germany has, except it's weaker and less influential there, but with democrats it still has some say, especially with political pet peeves like weapons that could hit deep inside Russia, and cluster munitions.

Every year the damn planet looks more and more like a Jack Ryan book. It's almost like that 7 Days to the Rhine plot. But the Russians jumped the gun and invaded prematurely without the logistics and necessary destabilization and collapse operations of the former Warsaw bloc states required.

Edit: Huh. 7 Days to the Rhine is an actual Soviet War Plan and its almost word for word identical to the plot in the book. How interesting.

Seven Years To Bakhmut.
