Well, I don't watch TV...or sports...and I don't pay attention to movie trailers.

So...pretty much par for the course for me!

I've seen the 1st one and liked it. Looking forward to the 2nd.
Watched Caitlin Clark of Iowa surpassing the late Pete Maravich as the all-time NCAA scoring leader in the 1st Half of Iowa's game against Ohio State.

So...reading comprehension is a must... :p
read that as Caitlin Stark playing basketball...
"Game of Thrones has basketball?! I totally missed that!"

Yeah be an easy mistake to make since not many folks follow Woman's College Basketball.

With that said Caitlin Clark is legit and she's awesome to watch. With how basketball has evolved now it's a bit more boring because everyone can hit deep jump shots but it's a bit more dynamic with the ladies comparatively in some respects.

Caitlin Clark is crazy good with sinking deep three point shots from far away.

In her last game she surpassed an all college scoring record surpassing "Pistol" Pete Maravich whose college record was established back in 1970 IIRC. Course the sport was fairly different back then.

She could easily be one of the greats in Women's Basketball.

my understanding is women's tennis also has some differences when compared to men's. less muscle mass means the ball isn't hit as hard means there tend to be more back and forth in the volleys than the men's games. the slower pace means the back and forth is more entertaining.

While obviously there is tackling and scrumming in women's rugby, the game itself is more about speed, agility, and out maneuvering your opponents than the men's matches (which has a lot more brute force involved when trying to push past your adversaries).

A woman's rugby match is far different from a man's rugby match, especially when you watch it on TV from a bird's eye view, and it makes for an interesting watch. :)

Something similar happened with Womens MMA a decade back as well. There were Women in Mixed Martial Arts for years prior, but it was such a niche that no one really watched much of it outside of some specialized events and promotions. Dana White, the owner of the UFC even famously said that there would never be Women who fight in the UFC.

But then there was a sudden uptick in not just the skill level, but straight up entertainment value. You had Women like Gina Carano, Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Rose Namajunas, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Megumi Fujii that really popularized it with promotions in Japan or Strikeforce in America and eventually the UFC realized it was actually profitable because it was entertaining.

Along with the personalities involved, and the novelty I guess, a lot of the Women's MMA matches at that time were just more... entertaining and watchable. With a lot of Male fights, the proportion just weren't as exciting while with the Women you had just as skilled competitors who really went at it and took risks and threw down while the Guys were busy cage humping and circling with jabs all the time. You'd watch some UFC events and be like... the best most entertaining fights on that card were actually the girls fighting. It wasn't universal, but generally speaking the Womens matches were just more exciting and entertaining to watch because they did more then the Guys on average.

These days, I'm watching something on YouTube called AoHaru Manga Library, and I'm now hooked on Japanese rom-com manga style episodes.

Bro, I watch these channels too!
Check out Ayasaki-san, too! They originally had a serial about a set of characters (the avatar and name is from one of the main characters in them), but something happened behind the scenes we don't know about and that serial hasn't been updated in two years; however, they've branched into one-shot stories which are just as good, and they put out a new one every day.

So watched the frist few epsoides of the new Avatar Last Airbender.

They do some things right. The visuals, special effect and bending are done really well. Overall they definitely got they look and feel of the Avatar world down. The costumes and makeup are a good transition from animation to live action. The acting is decent and the dialog while not great is very blockbuster level.

They even sprinkle in a few easter eggs like cabbage guy and the open credit speech.

They did end up making Zuko a prince unlike the frist drafts that where leaked. But the the recent items like Sokka are a problem but the biggest complaint I have is less to do with wokeism but time.

The whole show feels rushed. Due to the lengh compared to a full season they had to cut subplots and scenes for time. Sokka scene learning with Suki is still there but without any charater growth for Sokka. They completely skip the subplot of Katara stealing the scroll. This takes away a major point of charater growth from Katara. We no longer see her how recklessness Katara was in trying to be a waterbender and it changes the dynamics of her and Sokka relationship. Omashu now has Jet and the Mechanist there. Theu also have interduced Azula in the second episode. Basically due to limited epsoide count they have smashed together all the plot points and dropped or condensed mkst of the subplots. Thks makes the show lose a lot of its impact as we see less charater growth, world building and foreshadowing thay made the frist show so great.

So overall not a horrible take on Avatar but one that lacks something. An adpation should add or enhance from the original work but this new version is like watch a highlight reel thay makes new veiwers miss some major points.

I will probably finsh the show but overall all I would rate it a 5 or 6 at best. Enjoyable to waste time and most likley better if you never have seen the original.

I'll watch them at some point, but I got hooked on them since the episode involving Keiichi marrying the Yakuza boss's daughter Nagisa.

So I just watched a rather long video discussing Shutter Island and the theory that the main character actually is the genuine article, as is the case he is investigating, and that he was actually the victim of the very mental control experiments he suspected were taking place there in order to keep him from exposing said experiments.

I have to admit that it's been a while since I watched the movie, so I can't say if he left anything out that might not fit, but he does make a pretty compelling argument. What do you guys think?

So going back to rom-coms, has anyone heard of lovekoi manga, Manga Bear Nana Kuma and Akatsuki’s Rom-Com? Getting more hooked on those now, and Mani Mani People as well.
