So I'm thinking of posting a series of fanfictions that's essentially the ST redone and one of the twist I thought about doing was that Rey is not the granddaughter of Sidious but rather a reincarnation of sidious. Basically after his death, Sidious's force essence/soul wandered the Astral Abyss (the force equivalent of Hell) for a decade. He attempts to use Plagues's teachings on how to cheat death and resurrect in the phisical world, but because Plagues left out some key details, (as all rule of two sith did to ensure thier apprentices could never surpass them) the ritual gets botched and he ends up in the body of a stillborn baby girl and loses all of his memories. Rey's memories of her previous life as Sidious slowly return to her in the form of nightmarish Force visions/ flashbacks and by the time the climax of episode 8 comes around, she remembers everything but instead of going all "Papa Palpatine is back baby!" Like Disney decided to do. Rey''s horrified and devastated over what she did in her past life.

Thoughts?

I still think Rey died in the Last Jedi. During the fight scene with Snoke's Guards. One of them gets her in a chokehold. He is armed with two Vibro or energy daggers. Anyway, we never see him drop one so where did it go? In my position, if I had an enemy like that? The other blade would be getting acquainted with her internal organs.

I’d go so far as to say that it subverts expectations in a way I like even! Even back then I’d more than half expected them to put the main cast in a convenient hole so that they could simultaneously not be in ep 4-6 and still be around to be used, so Disney having the narrative integrity to kill them all off was a pleasant surprise.

I think it actually works very well.

Frankly I think Rogue One was a very, very well done take on how the Rebel's got the plans and why the flaw was there for Luke to hit.

It also definitely fits with the theme of Rogue Squadron type missions/themes, and serves as a fitting inspiration for the actual Rogue Squadron that Luke and Wedge founded.

My only real gripe was that they had the Ghost there and did almost nothing with it; if Hera had booked it to get under the shield when the fleet first arrived, it would have been a very different movie and at least some of the ground forces would have survived. No way are those atmo-TIEs taking out the Ghost, and with it on station it would have made transmitting the plans out much easier.

Of course if Hera had the plans at any point, there'd be no need to get them to Leia, and the whole timeline unravels.

Reminds me that I wish we'd had Grandma Hera going and tell Lando she's taking command of the Fleet in Rise of Skywalker, she's a much better tactician/fleet commander than Lando ever could have been.

Kind of a shame Vader was never confronted by a manifestation of his Jedi-self.

True, true.

Maybe I’m misremembering, but I don’t suppose there’ve been any instances of Padawan Anakin confronting a vision of Vader? I know the Son showed him a “speed-run” of his future on Mortis, but that’s the only example I can name, off the top of my head. (He was also a seasoned Knight with his own apprentice by that point, too. But details, details.)

There is literally a better example from the OG Clone Wars, and there is no stupid memory wipes. Also, it works in musical cues,

Oh, yeah. Forgot about that one, so thanks for reminding me.

You are very much welcome.

In light of the fact that with both TCWs, it might very well be old EU canon that Anakin has been warned at least twice in visions... it is almost as if the universe is screaming out to him, warning him of his fate...

Knights of the Old Republic remake maybe facing indefinite delays due to the developer Aspyr Studios apparently suddenly firing it's Art and Design Director.

Bounding Into Comics said:
Developer Aspyr — who had previously ported and re-released Star Wars games and more — were allegedly excited and felt the project was proceeding well.

However, the following week saw two directors fired: Art Director Jason Minor and Design Director Brad Prince. Around that time, Minor posted on LinkedIn, “I am looking for work. If anyone has some leads or suggestions, please DM me. Thanks. #OpenToWork.” Bloomberg proposed this was an indication of how sudden the news was to Minor.
