The Coming Far Right Backlash

People have active imaginations, but there will be no great civil war for the whole United States, no grandiose climatic fight. The decline of empires is like falling down a long flight of stairs. There isn't a big, glorious concluding event. It's just a slow, long fall where you gradually lose more and more along the way and eventually are forgotten.

Our population is so domesticated that they would never fight for anything. When the police comes for their guns, most will give them up. The death cult controls the schools, the news, and the entertainment industry. Most people have been conditioned to buy their message. Even if some people don't, they're not going to resist, because resisting means being fired from your job or fined by the government and being unable to engage in the economy and losing your TV and movies and video games. It is hard to grow up with such comfort and then give it up. Even if someone was willing to give it up, they would hopefully recognize the futility of trying to fight against a vast, self-perpetuating system. They will have no serious financial aid and won't have the numbers to accomplish anything significant. They would only be hunted and either 1. live their lives in hiding as the government becomes increasingly better able to track people, 2. give up and flee the country and try to fit in as a foreigner in a different land, or 3. be eventually captured and used as boogeymen by the media and accelerate the agendas they were trying to fight against. The best they can hope for is being able to set up their own little communities, their own no-go zones where the police won't try to encroach upon.

Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon.

Optymists.Maybe there is coming Far Right Backlash in USA,but in Poland best we could have would be patriot socialists.
And other european countries could not have even that.

Unless Mother of God made another miracle,Europe is doomed to muslims, chineese or local socialists.

Or a Cyberpunk type dystopia with less competent Corpos and no cool augments/Cyberspace.

In any case, happy Easter, my catholic friend.

Been having a sordid thought for a while, but just to share: I'm wondering what the fate of the Church is in this scenario?

Myself, I'm betting that even with (or perhaps, because of) the "Third Great Awakening" needed for the Far Right to become "Neo-Crusader" cultists, odds are the Catholic Church is getting gutted and many of its members butchered by Neo-Crusaders who cast them off as "Satanic Globalists wearing Christian vestments!" or something asinine.

There are a couple of components to this, though the first that comes to mind is possible "subversion" of the Church leadership in the coming decades. Luckily, Francis hasn't gone quite that far, but in the event of a downright Liberation Theology Pope being elected and spewing Leftist talking points with a Catholic bent ad nauseam, you can bet angry and populistic youths who want Globalism gone won't like that at all and may see toppling the Papacy as fair play, too.

Going hand-in-hand with that, I wonder what the likelihood of a new sort of "dark spirituality" arising amongst the increasingly impoverished, desperate masses is? Heck, that's literally the case in Mexico right now, with the Cult of Santa Muerte being an exceedingly bloodthirsty and criminalized variant of traditional Santa Muerte veneration where ritualistic killing and torture are celebrated. And given that this has bled across the US's southern border somewhat, I'm rather concerned by the possibility that an "Americanized" version of the Holy Death cult — which, upon reflection, would be quite compatible with the anti-material and apocalyptic Neo-Gnostic faction that might take power — catches fire among impoverished youths heading into the 2040s and '50s.

Naturally, I doubt the Catholic Church would take kindly to either one no matter their leadership, which would again paint big red targets on their backs once the Far Right comes for them.

All these comparisons to Rome and Caesar, I wonder if Oliver Cromwell might not be a better fit. The cultural and political background is closer, given how much of this shit is taking place in the Anglosphere.

A political class that's ignoring the periphery (urban versus rural) and has funding issues (this greater-than-GDP-growth borrowing can't last forever). There's a neo-religious reform to worry about in the form of social justice. There are even several countries tied together by the same 'king' (political class) to end up at war with each other.

Hopefully the resolution won't end up killing 10% of the population this time.

might not be a better fit.

He's a candidate though don't think there is a 'better fit' really.

'Caesars' rise from chaos, and chaos is unfortunately chaotic. Change anything in the initial conditions and you get something completely different.

Meaning if we have a vague idea of what comes next, it still remains a slot machine.

You know, this probably just my personal bias and my own state of religious confusion, but I do notice gnosticism is becoming more overt and popular in conspiracy theories and pop-culture.

The constant Matrix references and hell, even the fact we use blackpilled and redpilled so commonly in discussions like, is indicative.

In a post-modern world where everything is relativized and people are constantly brow beaten by fleshy materialism, the nonexistence of meaning and essence, and when the elite insist on roleplaying as Archons its easy to see why.

Discussing the future religions of the world is probably deserving of its own thread..
Was hoping to start up a 'Could Polytheism Return Throughout The West?' thread myself, yeah.

While not entirely germane to what you're after, who knows what the next thousand (or two) years will bring? After all, I doubt Julius Caesar foresaw Christianity arising and supplanting traditional Roman polytheism, so maybe a swing all the other way is in the cards for 2323 or so. Could be anything, really.
Problem is, we've already got a new state religion, it's wokeism and it sucks.
Like all state religions, it exists because it motivates the faithful peasantry to behave in manners beneficial to the state’s oligarchal leaders and said rulers have the money and media control to give the truly faithful useful idiots an enormous propaganda megaphone.
The Cubicle Sarcophagus said:
If you're looking for a new religion which is uncontrolled, unprompted and undesired by society's leadership, possibly some kind of unironic Church of the Basilisk? The ideas being that:
The parts of the new faith disliked by the ruling status quo being that...

God I do wonder if there are actually cultists for the roko basilik that could legit be mobilized to do irl actions.
the basilik is basically an irl Cthulhu mythos god at this point.
though that would make a pretty cool story for a book or game. Fighting a bunch of cultist to stop that scenario maybe while your organization tried to create a more stable ai to fight the cultist one
what the fate of the Church is in this scenario?
We've already got a standard procedure for Catholics disillusioned with the Church's ideological worldliness and have since fifteen hundreds. Ditch it for a Protestant sect of your choice, or found a new one of your own if none appeal. So the most likely result of the Mother Church going woke and consequentially broke is the same as any other large franchise, it'll hemorrhage fans to alternatives. Probably the most extreme outcropping of this would be a modern antipope crisis, probably with the dissenter being Latin American.

*The jumbled ramblings of a one-track-mind troll who can't resist injecting their pet issues.*

Yeah, nice try, dude. I'll give you a D+ for at least commenting on religion this time.

But as usual, you're just derailing with your signature articles you had on hand ahead of time and framing everything through the lens of your pet issues — malevolent AIs, universal enslavement, and so on.

At this point, I have to conclude you're either trolling, farming for feedback, or some of both. In any case, you're clearly not serious about engaging with the subject at hand and have nothing insightful to say.

Nice half-attempt at serious comments before veering way off-course, though. Truly, you're a masterclass in shitty derailing! :poop:

Demoralise? By telling you the truth? The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.

Then you'll be ready to actually resist effectively.

Your 'truth' fails basic 'correspondence with reality' tests.

There is more than just the 'progressive ratchet,' as evidenced by things like states passing constitutional carry laws en mass, SCOTUS recent revocation of Roe/Casey, and some states starting to pass laws banning transgender nonsense.

Lord Sovereign calling you out for demoralization is very apt. Things are bleak, and in many ways getting worse, but it's not all one-sided, and as always with the cycles of civilization, the more damage is dealt, the more people wake up and realize what's really going on.

Whether we're in terminal decline, or approaching the nadir of another cycle of decay and reform, remains to be seen.
