Calm down everybody. President Biden will be addressing the nation shortly to answer all your questions and deal with any residual concerns you might have.

And he's doing this on his day off no less. That's real leadership! I can't think of another world leader in history who would cut into his well deserved vacation to provide this kind of courageous political will. That sort of vision and initiative and experience. Just wow.

Looks like Biden isn't the only one going on vacation right now.

Press Secretary Jen Psaki is taking a week off as well... Wonder why? 🤷‍♀️

I wonder if she'll receive the same level of vitriol that the Zodiac Killer got when he took some time off.

Hey Rinos, when you betrayed the American people to "own the Orange man and defeat right wing populism" and "save our institutions from such abuse and mistrust". Did you plan for the senile, Chinese asset you installed against our will to do more damage to your precious institutions than Trump and the rest of us shitposting ever could?

I thank you, on behalf of everyone you maligned, denigrated, persecuted, executed and ridiculed!

Because the future is definitely right wing and not conservative either. No matter what horrors you visit upon the average Joe over the next decade.

You handed the New Right this victory, May you eternally lose sleep over it. You swine

The GOP just won control of the US House of Representatives & United States Senate in 2022 including several US State Governorships.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see a backlash in VA & NJ in November.

Only saving grace for the WOKE Dems will be in CA on September 14th.

On a significantly less humorous note regarding Afghanistan

As a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan this makes me literally nauseous. It brings to mind the Chinese in the 1940s when we abandoned them to the communists under Mao. It reminds me of Cuba when we led them to believe we would support their bid for freedom only to allow the slaughter at the Bay of Pigs, and subsequent abandonment by our Government. It calls to mind Vietnam, and their desperate cry for help and mass slaughter when we left them behind.

It reminds me of when the Georgian Army was fighting beside us in Iraq, and how we gave them a plane ride home and a "good luck guys" when Russia invaded their homeland. It makes me think of the Kurdish people who have been hunted and murdered in mass by islamic jihadis for so many generations, and how fragile our support has been as we tease the inevitable complete abandonment... etc, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

Whenever liberals make the moral, ethical, financial, legal, and political decisions for our Nation we inevitably find ourselves ashamed, broken, untrustworthy, and in debt to our eyeballs. The funny thing is... we keep telling ourselves the same lie. "It's bad for sure, but we'll change it in next election".

If you think our government holds their word to us any more sacred than they do to these folks then you're probably the same idiot that still believes your vote is counted in a fair and honest election. You probably believe that those who have spat on our constitution for decades while seizing power by abolishing our freedoms, and passing illegal laws behind our backs to give their unconstitutional actions legal backing, will ever relinquish that power in favor of the people or our constitution.

Why should USA be expected to have unconditional and eternal loyalty to partners who clearly don't return that sentiment and hold other priorities higher?

Part of the problem is that the US and other Western powers are filthy liars... Mujahedin at least are honest about what they want. But the entirety of the West (US, UK, France, Germany...)? No, we don't want to enslave you! No, it is about democracy, human rights, betterment for all, needs of the many... pinky promise!

Is it really surprising that at some point Taliban start looking like a more appealing option? With them, at least, you know what you are on, as bad as it is.

As if the average, semi-literate Afghan citizen both understood and cared for such high minded ideals and what they entail.

One interesting note is to play amateur statistician on that video and consider the number of able bodied, military age men in that crowd who clearly aren't even particularly afraid of death or injury. Did the Afghan government finally run out of US taxpayer funded M4's to abandon? Its not like anyone expects them to fight German armored divisions or Soviet artillery corps with just rifles, the incoming force they are trying to escape from is just a bunch of bearded dudes in pickup trucks with guns often older than themselves.
I think that illustrates one of the core problems of Afghanistan pretty well.
