I read this and then instantly figured out what was really going on.
The couple in question are self rightous assholes who look down on their new neighbors and try to impose their way of life onto other people. You look in between the self rightous bullshit and you see it plain as day.
Generally speaking as a rule If you move away from a place its because your old place was fucked up. If you move into a place the people there are doing something right so have some humility.

I mean one quote was talking about the lack of diversity then mentioning it was 88 percent white. Why even bring that up. It’s that kinda attitude that makes people wary of Californians.
What does race have to do with anything in this situation. Their going to bring all their bull crap to a new state when they should have left it behind and assimilated into the local culture.
Also you notice how they went for the big cities and didn’t even think about moving to some place smaller that boggles my mind
This really hits home for me. Twenty years ago land in my area of Appalachia was cheap one could buy twenty acres in places for 20,000 dollars. Now that same plot of undeveloped land is more like 100,000 dollars.Californians are arriving in Montana in droves. But they're not welcome.

A big reason for that is people from states like New York or California buying up land at prices that seem cheap for them but are astronomical for us locals. My home town is fast becoming a sub-division because literal rich land barons have moved in over the past ten years and have bought all of the uncleared land and made it into pasture. (Literally half of my home town's undeveloped property by now has been bought up a single man within the span of the last ten years.)
All of this is driving up the land prices and forcing locals to sub-divide their land further for their children who can't hope to compete with people who make big money out of state.
I used to love living here but now I just look at the place and remember the quite woods of my childhood and see them vanishing day after day, and I am constantly pondering why I even care about living here anymore, it just isn't the same.

As an actual Californian reading this thread, I don't know whether I should be amused out of a sense of schadenfreude or concerned at this turn of events.
I plan on eventually moving out as soon as I finish my education though as its not really a state I want to really raise a family in or buy property. Nice weather can only go so far in terms of keeping people here.
Though on the other hand I'm kind of cautiously optimistic that this radicalism causes a backlash among the Latino community who are known for Social conservativism. The terminology like "Latinx" have certainly caused an upset here for sure.
I know for example in Georgia, in the capital Tiblisi, there was quite a massive backlash and a rare sense of unity among the local Christians and Muslims against the Pride parade there. Plus there are many parents starting to wake up to the stuff preached in CRT and have begun pushing back. Despite the progressivism here in CA some of the other intersectional referendums (aligning with CRT) here were overwhelmingly rejected by the populace.

I don't see what there is to complain about. This is literally what is *supposed* to happen with a capitalist free market.
