Oshi no Ko and The Crow.

The (unreliable) Crow Girl recently said that Ai had "no regrets" when she died, and that "she thought no more" because she'd "dissolved/become one with the ocean and stars", but I find that hard to believe, to be honest.

Yes, she finally realized that she could love in her last moments after being stabbed, but her regret would be that she wouldn't be there to see Ruby and Aqua grow up and be a mother.

So what if another entity, unforeseen by the Crow Girl/possibly Yatagarasu, stepped in at the very last moment of Ai's death, Being X-style? That it not only manipulated her by fomenting the feelings of regret in Ai, but it also stoked her anger/fury at the one responsible for her murder by revealing his identify/motives/future? That he was the cause of Ruby and Aqua becoming orphans? That anger and grudge would remain and fester until she was ready to return to the land of the living...

Sixteen years later, Ai Hoshino crawls out of her grave on a stormy, wet night, and perched on her own tombstone and watching her with gimlet eyes was a simple, unremarkable crow...

Also, I could see Crow Girl noticing the "odd" crow in question sometimes and being confused. "That's not one of mine."

Dead idols coming back to life for vengr ce could go well with ZLS, too.
I find the only reply to my reddit post kinda amusing, though -- I mean, I kinda understand people not wanting the series to go into more supernatural territory, but... we're already there? I mean Crow Girl is a fucking goddess that reincarnated two people. :ROFLMAO:

Only saw the anime, so no idea who that is.

I'm any case I am thinking, what would be the best weapon against a zombie horde, other than another zombie.

I mean, send the ZLS intelligent zombies and others like the one from IIRC Hyouka was it, and the one where the a white haired necromancer waifu was just living with the MC to fight Tor HotD zombies and the zombies in ther anime by the same people who did Madoka, the rally angstynone.

Which reminds me, HotD x the Madoka Creator Zombie thing to save the day.

I'll spoiler it in case you don't want to know:

"Crow Girl" is suspected to be one of the Japanese goddesses Yatagarasu or Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto.

She appears later on in the manga, which the anime hasn't reached yet, and she's the one responsible for reincarnating Aqua and Ruby as part of her ultimate goal of... something, but she's definitely against their father/the mastermind behind Ai's murder for her own ends, so she's helping Aqua and Ruby.

But yeah, people who return as Crows are... well, they're fucked up, but it's not known whether it's because the trauma of their deaths (such as Eric Draven -- he was shot in the head, paralyzed, and watched his girlfriend get basically raped to death before he passed in hospital later on) causing them to be warped, or their personalities being twisted because of their undead, spirit of vengeance/justice state.

Seriously, look up clips of The Crow on YouTube, and you'll see how well it'd fit together with a lot of other series and franchises. :)

Yeah, ok, dunno if I will ever read that or be lazy and wait for the anime.
From what I hear, the manga/LN/whatever is a huge slog though.

I have seen the TV series, I know what it is, basically the hatred has dragged them out of purgatory.
But I think other powerful, negative emotions could play a part, too, like the desire to protect someone.

In any case, I have not see the series in a long time.

And it might be hilarious to have Ai return as a smother type mom wielding guns and goth face paint and staying forever young.

And maybe doing the obsessive, overly protective mom thing to some of Aqua's potential GFs. :ROFLMAO:

Oh, now that would be hilarious. I could see his "love" (because Aqua is Aqua) interests being dismayed that his undead mother is clam-blocking them. :ROFLMAO:

I see it more as interrogation and forcing the girls in his life to be nicer/actual waifu material.

Maybe with an 'Or else...' somewhere in there.

Anyways, to make a small pause from the outburst of extreme weebwey, I propose:

1) Farscape and SG-1, and you can have tons of fun with the Fargate situation.
Let us say that the Charted and Uncharted territories are part of one sector or quadrant of the Galaxy where regular hyperdrive does not work due to some magical negative space wedgie/runaway Ancient experiment or maybe even them trying to preserve part of the Galaxy from the Goa'uld.Maybe in a different galaxy altogether.

2) Farscape x X-COM, yeah, the humans were not sending their best and some Scarrans get to be X-Com guinea pigs.

3) Farscape x Lexxx. Because insanity levels, thst is why.

4) Farscape x X-Files.

5) Stargate x X-COM was done very well by IIRC some dude on SB way back.Still, good combo.

6) X-Files x X-COM

7) X-COM x MIB, with the MiB failing, then deciding to turn the failure into an asset and speed up Earth's development and boost defenses.Thsr would explain the speed to tech development and obviously alter the story, with the X-COM 'bad ends' becoming kinda impossible.

I'll do you one better. The Crow/Batman. This is early Batman too. No Justice League or allies to call upon, No Nightwing, Redhood, Robin or Batgirl. Bruce is still very early days. Maybe year 1 or year 2.

Eric Draven and his fiancé from the first movie are murdered as in the first movie. Only this time the situation is a little different. Honestly, as dark and depressing as the City was in the movie it literally could have been Gotham. Eric died just before or just as the Batman started. So unfortunately he wasn't able to save them. Eric and Shelly were just two more victims of Gotham. No more or less remarkable than so many others. And so Batman moved on and tried to prevent more of them. But Eric didn't move on and came back. And so Batman initially thinks Eric is just another wackjob he has to deal with. And boy oh boy is he not ready for this.

The story is Eric hunting down his targets one by one. Batman eventually becoming wise to Eric's activities and trying to stop him, and failing. Batman then researching Eric, the Crow and the myth turned reality. But when Batman does figure it out he is left with a horrible, horrible choice. Let Eric hunt down and kill his targets one by one? Thus allowing Eric to eventually rest in peace? Or Stop him and possibly condemn a soul to eternal torment, by protecting the very criminal scum he's been trying to take down.

What does the Batman do?

...I really need to get someone to write this....

Here is a strange one I just dreamed up.

40k and the Hyperion Cantos.

The place where the Tigers, Lions and Bears live is actually a version of the warp.

Year One stories are often some of the best obviously when it comes to potential plot nuggets... and it works well with crossovers as well, with the understandable drawback that you don't have all of the actual canon history to fall upon directly, but still can indirectly as inspiration for the canon characters used ofc.

In Batman: Year Two in a story that was no longer canon (rightfully so IMHo though the story itself wasn't bad) Batman's main nemesis was an aging vigilante known as 'The Reaper' who had retired years prior. His code however permitted him to kill criminals. For reasons, the Reaper returns to Gotham, sees that crime is still rampant and engages in very lethal vigilantism which puts him at odds with both Batman and the GVPD. The first half of the saga was interesting enough and there were some other interesting bits but overall there were some random plot points that were very weak and awkward that it didn't gel with the story.

The Crow could thusly be a decent nemesis in lieu of 'The Reaper.' Plus the year long gap between Eric's death and resurrection would make the chronology conveniently line up.

I don't see Batman condoning the murder of criminals just for Eric Draven to find peace (he typically doesn't condone the death of criminals generally but it's not like he goes around batarang'ing guns out of cops hands or anything so he might allow it under certain circumstances to occur in his presence) so I do feel they would come at odds.

There's some neart crossover fanart about it on the internets of Nazi Smashing Golden Age/Pulp Era heroes doing stuff. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I posted this one earlier in the thread.

Of course the Original Dirty Dozen were almost all criminals in the film, with the exception of Major Reisman and Sergeant Bowren who commanded and trained the squad of convicts on their near suicide missions.

Not sure if I can think of enough Golden Age felons that could fill out an entire squad of malcontents...

Probably could for all of the talk of Starage/X-Com and the like though.

*scrolls back in the thread*

The actor who portrayed Colonel Makepeace, Steve Makaj, always felt his character could've had a redemption arc after being unceremoniously arrested early in the Stargate series for working on behalf of the Rogue NiD. Totally could put him in charge of a Dirty Dozen squad of malcontents, rogues and criminals on government conspiracy sanctioned Black Ops style missions to Battle the Alien Infiltration/Invasion efforts in secrecy, or as secret as direct action special operations can actually get. :p

There are a lot of rogue Syndicate operatives from the X-Files series, and even folks like Shaojie Zhang from the first X-Com game who were criminally underused. Even stuff like the Redemption Squad from the Gargoyles series that never became its own show. It'd count too since that show had aliens and conspiracies in it. ;)

Random game franchise idea would be setting Japanese RPG style Final Fantasy (or Breath of Fire for you Capcom fans of taste out there) type game in various Western Fantasy settings. There's always been a marked difference between JRPG style games in themes, atmosphere, and settings/plot elements as well as gameplay obviously compared with the CRPG/TTRPG roots of Western RPG games and settings, plus the original DNA from stuff like Tolkien through Dungeons and Dragons.

But having a group of JRPG characters and their sensibilities roaming through Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, the Witcherverse, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Fable, Forgotten Realms etc I think would be a fun experience. And I think it'd be better with JRPG archetypes going through a Western setting then vice versa. The Western settings are still distinct despite having some similarities so it'd allow the JRPG protaganists to both compare and contrast their experiences and smartly make observations about the goings on. Plus the reactions of the settings population and characters to the JRPG protagonists would be markedly different as well.

I don't think there'd be as much prominent/popular variety with the inverse, of having Western fantasy heroes traveling through JRPG settings. It'd be interesting, but just not as much IMHO. Be more accessible for Western and international audiences IMHO as well I feel.

I had the funny idea of a minecraft master being dropped into Westeros, the North in fact. No one knows he is there until Robert arrives and then things go to hell.

Iron farms, gold farms, auto farms and mob farms. You can imagine the reaction to him just giving away, GIVING Away iron as good as castle forged steel. Making glass at will and all the other crazy things a minecrafter will get up too.

Creepers randomly appearing and terrorizing The Others would be fucking hilarious.
