United States US presidential election 2024

You're not wrong, The only real solution aside from making people exercise is to basically purge processed foods.
It will require LOTS of work to make happen though.
EVERYONE will need some form of home garden, and every community will need to manage some farmland for itself.
Issue is the processed stuff is transportable and storable for longer periods.

Whatever it is, Japan has it handled *really* well, and they aren't short on processed food either.
It's just different kind of processing and different food, nevermind lifestyle.
Even most EU doesn't have the US scale of the problem, so i guess not sticking copious amounts of HFCS and other sugar into everything would be a start.

I can't eat anything processed thanks to my extreme soy allergy, It basically means never eating out again and having to cook everything from scratch. I think the biggest factor in obesity though is from soda's and other beverages, They all have ridiculous amounts of carbs in them. That is what fucks up most peoples portion control in their eating habits.

I follow a "never drink your calories" policy.

With the exception of when I need to quickly supplement protein.

That is a good policy to have, I think like a Dr. Pepper for instance in a bottle has something like 50 carbs which is like half your daily intake unless you have a physically demanding job or workout really hardcore.

fruits and vegetables are shipped globally and always available in unprocessed form.

we really should not be going back to subsistence farming. it would be a step back for humanity.

Tangentially related to the presidential election...

Rep. Dean Phillips Resigns From House Leadership Over Discomfort With Biden's 2024 Candidacy

"The moderate Democratic left his leadership positions following a summer in which he has said someone other than Biden should run for president on the Democratic ticket.

He also told CNN's Jake Tapper in late August that despite his personal affection for the president, he has "grave concerns" over polling that shows a majority of Democrats want an alternative candidate."

On somewhat more amusing presidential election news, Cenk "Buffalo Fucker" Uygur, after announcing on Wednesday his plans to grift people via donations throw his hat into the Democratic primaries, gets destroyed on Twitter for forgetting the most basic reason why he can't qualify: he's not a natural-born US citizen. Being a smooth-brained tool, Cenk doubled down and was further humiliated by the Twitter Community Notes.
