The Disney-DesSantis/Central Florida Tourism Oversight District feud that's been going on for a couple years now has been largely settled recently it appears.
Looks like DeSantis got what he wanted for the most part with a DeSantis controlled Board overlooking Disney's 'Special District' which Disney apparently felt entitled to ruling as their own fiefdom.
Disney dropped almost all of its lawsuit, the remaining one being an appeal over 1st Amendment things that they've currently put on hold as they see how the negotiations and developments grow out of this.
I'd like to thank the mainstream newsmedia for responsibly covering the event.

It would be a great victory at this point if Disney is forced to relocate to Florida.

Ortega has basically decided that Disney's values and hers don't coincide, and that working with them would be detrimental to her career.
For any star to basically say "no, you're a cancer to a career" to a massive media company like Disney? Yeah.
They were hoping/relying on her being the head for the new Deppless PotC movies, and they were hoping to get her into the MCU, too.
By pulling away, she's basically fucked over their hopes of using them as further cash cows -- especially PotC.
