Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Massive pressure on Romania & Poland to grow a backbone by sending weapons, missiles, fighter jets, etc., to help Ukraine.

Fighter jets would be of very limited cost benefit. And Poland is already stuff. Drones and stuff. I posted a bit yesterday with a convoy driving into Western Ukraine from Poland apparently carrying large amounts of munitions. And earlier in the month they sent them Piorum MANPADS IIRC.

Romania is sending stuff as well.

But they got their own issues. Moldova is the next country in line for Russian Liberation and "Denazification" since the last election and also have an ongoing territorial dispute with Russian backed seperatists. Plus there's islands in the Black Sea that are ongoing minor territorial disputes.

You're thinking Putin is gunning after Romania next ?

I know the Baltic States are likely getting invaded by Russia.

Unverified Twitter Update.

Fox News cataloging the brave fight Ukrainian civilians are engaging in with such primitive weapons!

So brave!

Some snap analysis from RALee regarding the days fighting, especially around Kharkov. There is reportedly still heavy fighting around there. He's repeatedly pointed out how restrained Russia has been in use of fire support against civilian infrastructure and not wanting to elevate the conflict by hoping it'd be over quickly and cleanly like the Crimean Operation

From the Kyiv Independent so... Obviously. But Belarus was struck by Ukrainian munitions which is unsurprising.

Lukashenko threatens retaliation. Maybe he'll invade Ukraine or something. That'd show them!

More civilians blocking tanks in a village near Chernikev

And finally CNN is embodying the meme.

Taliban/AQ-backed insurgency that had open-air slave markets, like other places the USASSR stuck their nose in, like Libya and ISIS-controller Syria.
Whatever Czeczen had in 2000,now they have Kadyrow installed by idiot Putin who turned them into islamists. That is why you could not rely on KGB russia - they provoked war with Czecznya, conducted genocide,and....turned rest into islamist heaven.Bloody idiots

Back to Ukraine - you have country who never invaded anybody/Ukraine/ attacked bu country which just start 3th war from 2000/Russia/.Maeby ukrainian are nazis - but they do not hurt anybody outside their territory yet.KGB Russia did so many times.

On our Earth, you have only bad and worst states - you decided to support worst.

Ghost of Kiev . . .

Do you know why they call him that?

Because that's what he is, a ghost.

Ivano-Frankivsk Airbase was devastated by Russian missile attacks from the offset.

Ukrainian air force was MOSTLY destroyed in the 1st or 2nd day, as per Russian reports.

But not completely destroyed. I only counted 27 MiG-29s parked there.

Ukrainians have 37 operational. Which means another 10 are unaccounted for.

And we do know that the Ukrainians have downed multiple, I think the count is up to 7 or 8 non transport aircraft and 3 or 4 transport aircraft
Assuming that the CIA and the geniuses at the US State Department are leaking 'intelligence' intended to provoke such, perhaps. Must keep on wagging the dog, after all, and war scares are very profitable in so many different ways.

Have you heard recently about how bad inflation and unemployment are here in the US? How about the truck convoys converging on DC? No? Oh, you are distracted by the Ukraine? How convenient.
I have yes.
I am just focusing on my area of expertise which is watching foreign affairs....

The craziest thing about this whole affair is the fountain of utterly fake propaganda spewing out on this whole thing. Made up pilots, made up attacks and strikes, recycling so much footage and images from years ago and presenting it as stuff happening right now. For the most part this is Ukrainian stuff, and the reports of their successes just stink of complete bs.

Western journalism has been doing that sort of thing for ages - re-using old stock photos while pretending it's new, claiming to be "on site" where the action is happening when they're really in a studio somewhere, etc etc

I have seen more of it from Russians actually.
Very few Ukraunian stuff is made up.
Like the ghost of Kiev is both real and not real.
We do know from those who like to do BDAs, that there have been at least 6 Russian aircraft downed as if two days ago if not three. The numbers have gone up.
Why else would they have so little aircraft flying into Ukraine anymore?

So, am I getting this right that it seems that a) the Russians have only used a small part of their assembled forces so far and b) those forces seem to be 2nd class units lacking the high tech equipment that the Russians actually field in useful numbers? Because - and I can easily see that's because they are shit - our news media doesn't seem to have caught on to that.

Not really, the 1st Guard Tank Army was used at Kharkov and they were the Russian elite.
It seemed that on day 1 they used mostly lower quality units, but now they're going in hard.
