The Americas 🇨🇺 Protests in Cuba

Interesting news coming out of the Biden Administrations Department of Homeland Security with a recent announcement by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

National Review said:
Even asylum-seekers who can establish a credible fear of government persecution will be resettled in a third country, Mayorkas said.

“If individuals make, establish a well-founded fear of persecution or torture, they are referred to third countries for resettlement. They will not enter the United States,” Mayorkas emphasized.

Secretary Mayorkas' alleged reasoning is that he wants to discourage passage by sea from Cuban (and Haitian) asylum seekers since its so dangerous. This is completely unrelated to the fact that Cuban immigrants might vote Republican.

Disgusting, but sadly entirely predictable. Before Biden, Obama was the one who ended the 'wet foot, dry foot' policy after all. The Democrats clearly just want immigrants who'll be more mindless slaves that support socialism, vote for them and wouldn't spit on the American flag only if it were on fire; why would they want more of a demographic that demonstrably despises socialism, trends Republican and loves America?

The only refugees they want are ones that will vote Dem without a second thought. Cubans have seen communism first hand and never will, so they refuse to let them in.

I am more interested in how the NPCs will respond to this. "No human is illegal! Open borders for all!" How are they computing this new doublethink? Are they running apologia by spinning CIA plants or something shit again?

I suspect this is actually to downplay the real reasons they're protesting.

People will hear vaccine shortages and eat that shit right up.

I think it's both. Liberal media telling liberals it's about corona shit rather than communism allows the media to shift the propaganda value from opposed to in line with what liberals already think, but the flip side of this is it also encourages them to sympathize. Both are advantageous for the system.

The people trying to usher In a new socialist/communist era really don't want their supporters hearing about how masses of people are protesting against communism pretty much right in their back yard. Cuba is supposed to be an example of communism working.

They've got to keep that propaganda going. People in this very thread were arguing that Cuba got healthcare right. It's a major propaganda op.

The above still standing, I think you seriously overestimate how valuable Cuba is to leftists in the US. It's far, far less valuable to them than their tacit alliance and overlap with the spook community and liberal "moderates."

If Cuba goes south they'll just say it was "red fascism" or "state capitalism" or another variant of "not real communism," just like they do with the USSR, Venezuela, NK, China, or any of those other states. They'll trot out something about Castro being mean to gays or blacks or something like that.

Fucking hell, it's not just AS LONG AS IT'S LEGAL immigration, even illegal immigration (or excuse me "asylum seeking refugees 😭 😭 😭 ") can get slipped by you people as long as you can delude yourselves about it. The exact same policy applies to haitans, who definitely do not vote Republican, lol. Granted, I'd guess the Cubans are a lot more able to actually put together something seaworthy. But even if these protests are not a cia op and is something to be optimistic about, why the hell would you want to take in the people who are currently actively demonstrating that they will not even fight for their own country? How deep can their love for America go when these are the ones who won't even fight for Cuba?

Seems like it's worked out pretty well for America for ~60 years now. All you've said about Cubans now could well have been said of the Cubans then - if the previous generations of Cuban exiles loved freedom, why didn't they just stick around to die or get tortured in a jail by Castro - and yet the only complaints I've heard about Cuban Americans come from left-wingers, typically along the lines of 'they're the bourgeois white Cubans and thus evil people who should've been shot'.

As is, AFAIK the Cubans have shown themselves to be a net positive for the American economy, society and the forces opposing the left in America. Without them, Florida would be stuck under a typical woke Democrat governor who engages in meth-fueled orgies right now instead of having Governor Ron DeSantis. Looks like reason enough to want them in (and certainly enough to set their caliber well apart from & above, say, the Guatemalan caravan people) to me.

As an aside, I doubt Biden and the pozzed CIA of today have much to do with these protests, if anything at all. Obama was all for trying to make friends with the Cuban Communists and Biden's following in his footsteps, after all - and of the recent potential CIA strikes against left-wing regimes in Latin America, Bolivia and Venezuela both came under Trump and failed pretty badly, while the Pink Tide reached its high-water mark in the Obama years. I'd guess the use of any American flags by Cuban demonstrators is a leftover of America's soft power, the Stars and Stripes are still associated with the ideal of liberty in many parts of the world.

If a new generation leaves on boats just like when Castro was in power, how many of them will advocate violent measures to deter them?

Yeah, they repeat that they are all for giving money to communists, and support domestic terrorists of the politically correct ideology and skin color.
The Communist Party of Cuba wouldn't have written this statement much differently.
Trained marxists indeed.
