This election was the make or break point for the GOP after 2020; the GOP didn't make it, and did break itself in a bunch of false hope's and cope.

I don't think it was complete at total wrecking of the GOP. It WAS a very clear indicator of what works within the GOP. DeSanitis' model in FL is clearly a huge burning bonfire as an indicator in how to do it.

Also, I’m looking into what I can in regards to Pennsylvania.

So far, I know that, at least in the county I live in, quite a few place suddenly started using electronic voter registration records for the first time. And that some of the people I’ve spoken to, and myself included, we’re on the receiving end of issues. Such as no longer being registered living at our own addresses. Or being told that we voted by mail when we didn’t.

While we were able to get it straightened out and vote…well.

Trump is a hinderance, not a help, to the GOP anymore, and not just because of Dem lies. I don't know if you've noticed, but Trump backed candidates did pretty poorly last night.

Getting slim control of the House is barely anything now, because it will only be able to do a slight amount of damage mitigation (and all that the Dems need would be a few RINO defections to pass things) and not reverse anything, and will have done nothing to address a lot of the issues the Dems have caused. It also did nothing to help the GOP in the larger culture war, and is going to make people distrustful of the GOP because of how much false hope and cope they sold.

The clear truth is that quality of candidates matter, but only to Republicans and Independents. Democrats will vote for someone with brain damage so long as a (D) is next to the name.

This shouldn't be surprising, we know that a lot of leftists are unhinged lunatics, see the endless stream of rainbow weirdos online for proof, their votes count just as much as ours, and whereas most Republicans/Independents won't vote for a member of their party who is clearly mentally incompetent, Democrats absolutely will.

Republicans/Independents will bicker over who is the best candidate and vote accordingly, in effect splitting the vote in every election, but all a Democrat needs is a (D) next to the name.

All in all, this Midterm was a Republican victory, although narrow, far more narrow than it should have been.

In the future we need to realize that it doesn't matter how bad the Democrat candidate is, they will receive all of the Democrat votes, whereas Republican candidates need to be the best of the best to secure their votes.

One reason that Trump was appealing back in 2016 was that he promised the Right victory where the establishment surrendered before every battle. And while he turned out not to be as competent as I would have hoped, he at least tried. Which still makes him better than the old guard.

But I would rather have someone who fights and wins. And DeSantis has shown himself to be that man. In an election cycle where the rest of the Republicans promised the moon and delivered mediocrity, DeSantis over-preformed.

Trump meanwhile endorsed losers and then preceded not to financially support said losers, instead opting to suck up fundraising money that could have gone elsewhere and keep it for himself for his expected 2024 run.

Trump needs to hang up his hat and ride off into the sunset. But he can't seem to realize that the fate of western civilization is more important than his own ego.

I think the best way to go about this would be to form a sub-party within the part similar to the DSA to advance interest and further avoid those risk.

Now onto my opinion about the outcome and my major take aways.

First: I think that results would indicate that within the right and without Trump has lost most popularity and that isn't surprising, the man is a great example of ways to turn non-straight party voters off and his repeated fiascos and failure to stop beating the dead horse that is the 2020 election has weighed him down repeatedly as it is.

(I will elaborate for context if asked but don't jump my rear and make assumptions on my comments here.)

Second: DeSantis is now all but guaranteed to be a major frontrunner in the RNC for nomination to the candidacy of President. I can't state it enough, in Florida Ron won and won bigtime by a percentage 59.8 an absolutely nutty showing considering his previous results in 2018 were 49.59 which shows he has broad appeal to his constituency not just within his party but without as well.
