If inflation skyrockets, which, it is, a regular Joe could start getting massive tax bills for when their house is suddenly worth millions of dollars.

That's why they are trying this now. If the petro dollar collapses, there goes the dollar. Then people will have to sell their houses just to pay the tax on them.

It only targets the rich right now. But when everyone qualifies because of inflation? The government will just take everything and helpfully move the now bankrupt people to the new work camps.

To help them get back on their feet of course.

They get paid in food. That they grow. They can keep some of it.

Yeah, at that point, I'm starting to wonder if the public will either evade or outright refuse to pay those taxes.

(Unless, of course, the government makes a "show of force" to scare people back into line. But, then again, I don't know how effective intimidation will be, when the people who "ought to be" intimidated have nothing left to lose.)

With this sort of tax scheme I question if they even have a force to show, The police and soldiers would be just as subject to it as anyone else.

The concerted effort to bring back feudalism is strange, I suppose certain politicians and billionaires want peasants they can lord over and abuse with impunity.
Revolutions against the ruling class do not come from the poor. They never have, the poor are too busy working to try to put their next meal on the table. Revolutions come from the middle class. The French revolution, the Bolshevik revolution, the Chinese revolution, the American revolution, all the result of an angry middle class tearing a strip out of the ruling elite and seizing it for themselves.

Thus there's a certain type of elite who thinks the path to power is secured by destroying the middle class so that there is only the ruling elites and the super-poor, thus guaranteeing that they can't be overthrown because there is no middle-class to become disaffected and overthrow them. This was a major part of Marxist thinking, one need merely look for how much hate and bile is directed at the "Petty Bourgeois," that is the middle-class, to see how much they hated the middle class. They ddin't direct hatred at the elites, for in their hearts they saw themselves and future elites and didn't want to lay the groundwork for their own destruction, but rather turn the world only into themselves, those who rule, and those who are too poor and too beat down by life to every act against those who rule.

Then perhaps it is time for us to rise up in revolution against the New World Order.

Without a middle class though, the elites are stuck fighting amongst themselves for a portion of an ever-diminishing pile of wealth; until eventually, everyone is poor.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t that a drop in the Ocean?
it covers about 5% of our daily usage at the rate he plans to release it. so it may stave off some price rises for a few months. course after that since we aren't gonna expand our production and only want to import from people who hate us we are gonna see a rapid spike in price once it wears off and it will mean we have less for the military if they actually need to do some form of extended operations. but it isn't like we are at risk of going to war in the near future or anything.

Sound like a genius plan, no problem in sight here.

par for course with the biden admin. make a decision that puts off the problem while making it worse and refusing to do the easy and obvious thing that can fix the problem. we are in for a very rough year this year globally and nationally.
Dems are pulling every lever in sight cause they believe that if they don’t the republicans get control and can start investigating a lot of people

Heard about the Biden petro-plan on the radio a bit ago.

1 million barrels of oil a day for months...price is still above $100 per barrel after the news.

aaaannnd I just checked, price is already climbing back up.
