United States Biden administration policies and actions - megathread

Probably not.

However, by backing down, Pelosi (and our government) now look like we have no spine for confrontation.

This makes it MORE LIKELY that China will pull the trigger on attacking Taiwan.

Bad move by Pelosi et al.
Exactly what I am saying by her not going

Well, looks like we just showed Taiwan how weak any defense commitments they've made with us actually are.

Pelosi being scared away from Taiwan by mere threats shows that if the CCP decide to go hard for Taiwan, those defense pacts they have with us are probably not even worth the paper they are printed on.

We'll sell Taiwan all sorts of goodies to defend themselves, but actually risking US lives over them...no reason to still think that is likely after this fuck up.

If Taiwan has any sense then they'll turn up the charm on Japan (and to a lesser extent, Korea). The JMSDF has one of the most powerful fleets in the world and might now be the only force in the region that could reliably ride to its rescue.
May also want to look at an agreement or treaty with India.

Explains why the following Democratic Governors are secretly jockeying for position to strike and launch their bids for the Presidency:
1.) Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D)
2.) California Governor Gavin Newsom (D): Harris be damned
3.) New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D)
4.) Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D)
5.) Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D): Would he pull the trigger though?
6.) North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D): Blue Dog Southern Democrat and potential VP pick for Harris (if she's the nominee for President in 2024)
7.) Washington Governor Jay Inslee (D): although @49ersfootball mentioned awhile back that Inslee recently filed paperwork to seek reelection to a 4th term.

Jay Inslee becoming President would be a disaster. He basically runs Washington as his own personal dictatorship, the legislative body is basically a rubber stamp.

I shudder to think what that man would do with the office of the presidency.

Again that sounds like something a half retarded bureaucrat would try to do before they get lynched.

Even Ceasor feared the Mob. I think a lot of politicians believe they are absolutely untouchable, which within the safety net of our modern society they pretty much.

Of course they are in the middle of destroying that safety net, and they are going to have very surprised looks on their faces when their security forces join the mobs at their gates. Much like I imagine the Romanovs or Bourbons had when that moment came.

The Chinese have until the first week of November to act in the current political environment. 3 months and 1 week to decide if they think they can take Taiwan or not.

One of the saddest things about this, is that if Pelosi just hadn't had Taiwan on her visit list in the first place, it literally would not have mattered.

She should just go. She announced it, and backing down to the CCP looks weak. Especially because they absolutely won't shoot down her plane, fighter escorts or no.

The US may be stumbling, but it hasn't fallen from its position of global hyperpower yet, and China would simply cease to exist if the US military turned its full might against them.

They'd cease to exist in short order if we simply stopped sending them money, and protecting their shipping. That we haven't even threatened to do so just shows how utterly compromised our so-called leaders are.

@Bacle @Captain X she is going to Taiwan.
3 carriers are supporting her flight

Finally, this administration does something right.

Edit:

From this article it looks like one aircraft carrier, and three other surface warships.

Check this article out from Business Week on conservatives aggressively pushing to make the US a conservative country in all 50 states:
A convention is unlikely, but lets face facts the democrats haven't respected the consitution for a very long time.
Even if a Convention happens, if what comes out is too extreme, it'll never pass through the ratification process with the states.
