@DarthOne In terms of time, I don't think it'll be in the next decade. Or the next 30 years. Or the next 50. It'll be our grandchildren that will be fighting the hot, physical war. So it's our (current generation) responsibility to prepare for that. What children you have will need to understand the nature of the fight ahead. And they, in turn will need to prepare their children.

I think a lot of people are severely underestimating how bad things are going to get and how quickly.

They are desperate to grab and keep power however they can. And now that the masks have started coming off they know they are in danger if they ever lose power again.

So they won't. They will lie, cheat, murder, and steal and claim they didn't right to your face when they are caught live on camera and will have all of the people in media agree with them. They have gone this far, why not a bit farther, and then a bit more.

And then before you know it we are in a authoritarian hellhole like we never imagined possible a few years ago.

Forget all the 80 years and our grandchildren will fight stuff.

Perhaps; but I don't think quibbling over when it will happen actually helps any of us to any meaningful degree. It'll happen when it happens, and not a moment sooner.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D) has called for an investigation into Elon Musk and his company, SpaceX, Bloomberg reported on Sept. 12.

Warren wants a probe into the company due to allegations that Musk was personally responsible for preventing a Ukrainian drone attack against the Russian navy last year.

The U.S. Congress should investigate "whether we have adequate tools to make sure foreign policy is conducted by the government and not by one billionaire," Warren said on Sept. 11 in Washington, D.C.

Reports emerged on Sept. 7 that an excerpt from a new biography on Musk described how he secretly instructed his engineers to turn off Starlink satellite communications near Crimea in 2022 to prevent a Ukrainian submarine drone attack against Russian military ships.

As the drones loaded with explosives approached the Russian fleet, they "lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly," Walter Isaacson wrote in a biography titled "Elon Musk."

Musk denied on Sept. 8 that he had Starlink satellite communications to disrupt a Ukrainian drone attack, saying that they had not been active in this region in the first place.

However, Musk also said he had received a request "from government authorities" to activate Starlink, operated by his spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX, "all the way to Sevastopol." He didn't specify who exactly had sent the request.

"If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation," the billionaire claimed on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Warren added that she wants the U.S. Defense Department to investigate "its contractual relationship with the company," Bloomberg said.

In June 2023, the Pentagon confirmed that SpaceX had won a contract from the Defense Department to provide Ukraine with Starlink satellite services but did not reveal the price, scope, or delivery timeline, citing operational security.

SpaceX began providing the Starlink satellite internet system to Ukraine shortly after the Russian full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Starlink was never provided to the area in question, and requests to enable it over Crimea were denied. The terms of service prohibit using Starlink for offensive military action, as it is a civilian system. Elon did absolutely nothing wrong. In fact, doing so would put his entire company at risk for potential war crimes.

Also, Elon has stated that he didn't want to escalate the war and avoid a possible nuclear conflict. Never mind that the USA isn't at war with Russia (well, legally at least).

This is legitimate fascism— harassing private businesses with federal investigations when those businesses don't fall in line with government desired policies.

To clarify on the Starlink issue: the Ukrainians THOUGHT coverage was enabled all the way to Crimea, but it was not. They asked Musk to enable it for their drone sub attack on the Russian fleet. Musk did not enable it, because he thought, probably correctly, that would cause a major war.

The onus is meaningfully different if I refused to act upon a request from Ukraine vs. made a deliberate change to Starlink to thwart Ukraine.

At no point did I or anyone at SpaceX promise coverage over Crimea.

Moreover, our terms of service clearly prohibit Starlink for offensive military action, as we are a civilian system, so they were again asking for something that was expressly prohibited.

SpaceX is building Starshield for the US government, which is similar to, but much smaller than Starlink, as it will not have to handle millions of users. That system will be owned and controlled by the US government.

The powers in DC are going to toss Biden out and replace him as Kamala at the right moment, unless they impeach her as well.

If they toss Kamala, McCarthy gets the job himself, but I don't think that play is likely to work with a Dem controlled Senate. The Dems will jettison Biden but not Kamala, and then get the claimant for 'first female POTUS'.

I am actually beginning to wonder if they'll oust Biden. I used to be sure of it. Now I think they'll just wait for him to croak. As of right now he's top much of a puppet. They won't want to let that go. This is a man who will accept them turning on music and ending a press conference in the middle of a sentence.

They couldn't ask for a more obedient puppet.

If Biden is ousted, it won't be through impeachment. He'll come down with an illness and have to step aside. That's how dems operates and he has said it himself.

I was almost certain this was going to happen, but now I'm thinking they're gonna drag this out till he dies because he's the perfect puppet who signs anything they put in his desk.
