Bidengate in which a meth head son and possible child abuser ruins your political grift

Well, I just finished making my way through this thread - so how's this all going then?

I have to admit, it was kind of sad to see people say stuff along the lines of "this is the end of the Biden campaign" given how things turned out, even if it was the result of cheating. Part of me wants to also say it was kind of surprising given the things that were revealed, but, I'm really not all that surprised given the corruption of the media.
It confirms he's as protected as Prince Andrew.

Something before mentioned a plea bargain so a slap on the wrist.

We do not have rule of law in this country. Some people, by virtue of their social class, can just do whatever they want without having to worry about dealing with any consequences for their actions.

This summer more or less proved that, thing is that kind of situation does not last long.

One could argue it's lasted for several decades so far, at least; if not longer. Though admittedly, it's gotten far more blatant as of late.

Also very importantly, it used to be restricted to a select few, and mostly done behind closed doors.

Now it's out in the open, and has been visibly applied to both broad swathes of society (BLM/Antifa rioters/arsonists), and some very specific individuals who are the last who should have special privileges (the felons who attacked Rittenhouse, the pardoned terrorist handling money for leftists).

Daily Mail did a yuge bigly article analysing what was found on the Hunter Biden laptop.

Posted pictures and texts and dates and times as well as establishing reasons as to why they find the laptop to actually be Hunters and not some other nonsensical alternative like a Russian Op.

Yeah but because it’s the Daily Mail and not a ‘reputable’ source like CNN, MSMBC or the BBC, good luck in convincing anyone that.

I'm actually wondering if saner heads eventually prevail if there will be some way of going after these grifters and propagandists which does not violate the 1st Amendment in some way.

Yes?

We just need to reverse New York Times Co. v. Sullivan. This is the court case that raised the standard for Libel and Slander against public figures from merely being untruths and the like, but to having "actual malice" (which is basically an impossible standard to prove for public figures as you basically need a smoking gun exchange where the person being sued for libel and slander admits they know something is false and they're going to repeat it anyway just to cause harm). Imagine how the media would have handled reporting on, say, Trump if for every lie they published on him he could have sued them for slander and libel. He'd probably rival Bezos for wealth.

This would very rapidly shift the political reporting landscape, as both politicians and media figures would no longer to just be able to toss accusations of "racism", "sexism", etc. against their political opponents, as when they did their rivals could quickly sue them for slander and libel and demand major public recantations or cost them millions of dollars.

Some Hunter Biden updates!

New York Post said:
From May 2014, Burisma Holdings Ltd. was paying Hunter $83,333 a month to sit on its board, invoices on his abandoned laptop show.

But in an email on March 19, 2017, Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi asked Hunter to sign a new director’s agreement and informed him “the only thing that was amended is the compensation rate.”

“We are very much interested in working closely together, and the remuneration is still the highest in the company and higher than the standard director’s monthly fees. I am sure you will find it both fair and reasonable.”

After the email, the amount listed on Hunter’s monthly Burisma invoices was reduced to $41,500, effective from May 2017. The amount was paid in Euros, at the rate of between 35,000 Euros and 36,100 Euros per month, based on currency fluctuations at the time.

Strange coincidence I'm sure but nothing related to being Joe Biden's son I'm guessing. That's just how the energy market operates I'm sure.

But wait... there's more! Hunter Biden shopped the idea of a Reality Show to help assist his Dad's Run on the White House.

New York Post said:
Edward-Isaac Dovere writes in “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Trump” that Hunter and wife Melissa Cohen approached producers with the “hazy concept” that summer. According to an excerpt first reported by Fox News, Hunter suggested the proposed show would “would also help soften his father’s image.”

According to Dovere, one of the producers asked Hunter if the elder Biden approved of the project. “I know where the line is,” Hunter answered, “and my dad is understanding of what I am up to.”

It was unclear exactly what charitable work Hunter Biden wanted the reality show to spotlight. Earlier this year, he stepped down as co-chair of the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children, which is named after Hunter’s late brother and works to prevent child abuse. Another charity, the Biden Cancer Initiative, suspended operations in July 2019, three months after Joe Biden announced his presidential run.

Dovere writes in the book that Hunter Biden “spent his life trading on his father’s name” while father Joe “was protective, always stepping in to help him along.”
