I don't know anything about the dude, so I don't know how he gets his money. I'd hazard to guess he draws some income from youtube though.

I'm not saying he's necessarily insincere, but I think he's part of a pretty common pattern, which is some-flavor-of-minority who agrees with 95% of progressivism... but doesn't have any real attachment to the latest excess, or thinks it's a bit silly, so complains about it, which naturally attracts conservative viewership. But the second anyone actually tries to do something, he's terrified that it will go past just cutting back the latest fad, because he actually feels far more in disagreement with and threatened by the right, and he cares a lot more about enshrining 2020 liberalism than he does in fighting 2021 liberalism. So he's always going to be the first to break ranks.
JustSomeGuy is a libertarian, and is thus anti-censorship. As such, I actually agree with him to a degree. He has generally been attacking and being attacked by leftists, and he tends to focus on comics and other media. So maybe you should try watching some of his other videos instead of just bashing on him.

And he's not wrong about Republicans and censorship. I probably wouldn't care as much if it was just the leftist grooming stuff being banned, but this guy literally went after anything even remotely to do with civil rights.

Them being idiots who go to far with this does not change how I view the Confederate statues on public land.

When the tide turns against the Far Left, Jefferson will go back up, Lee won't.
He will if I have anything to say about it; if for no other reason than the historical importance of both the man himself, and the statues of him that were erected.

I love history and civil war stuff.

My family took trips all over the country to visit civil war battlefields and such.

It really saddens me that some people want history or any reminders of history buried and forgotten instead of learned from.

There were good and bad people on both sides of the civil war. Both sides had heros and villains. I'd rather have access to all of it and it's context to learn from.

Don't worry we will have another civil war soon

I mean none of that is really interesting to me or sounds like a good use of my time.

The government deciding what goes in the government education or the government schools isn’t censorship and it’s ridiculous to claim that it is. A school library is not going to have every book, and will not have the same number of copies or be able to display equally prominently every book it does have. There is always someone deciding what will be read there. This is just an elected official making the decision as opposed to an unelected bureaucrat.

And no, he didn’t, JustSomeGuy is pretty obviously lying about that, because he leads with “he’s trying to remove any book that tells students what rights they have!” But then later says that ~60% of books on the list were LGBT literature. No, the distribution of books that talk about student’s rights or civil rights isn’t 60% gay stuff. This was also pretty obvious when he was listing off titles that he was claiming were just about “rights” but were obviously not in the sense he was claiming, they just had an optics-friendly title.

Edit: Oh and also I doubt Rothbard, Mises, or Hoppe would be at all interested in defending the right of the low level government bureaucrat to push CRT on children.

The idea that the tide will somehow magically turn without being made to do so is just cope. Things don't happen because the majority or moderates get fed up or something like that, the majority is basically useless and doesn't matter.

Any group capable of defeating the left will be for Lee statues.

I don't think they'll be for Lee statues, but they will absolutely be for the freedom that allows them to be installed again.

Well shit....

14 million of it is on Fields alone, which means it's basically uncollectable, since Fields is already broke and in jail for 419 years.

Not sure how owing 14 million dollars affects his ability to receive or earn commissary (no idea how that actually works) but if it does that's the only tangible effect. (Unless relatives are somehow responsible for the debt?)

Of course, 12 million is still a pretty substantial number.
