I'd rather Japan focus on making quality original anime than tie one for western capeshit.

And capeshit in general is dying out and the market has been oversaturated.

So would I, but their entire production pipeline is fucked and basically makes original anime a non-starter, so them getting more money by doing western productions is better than nothing.

Um, dude there are tons of anime coming out, and a lot of it is either original or based on Manga/LNs.

So, yeah, not that much capeshit.

Only one I can think of this season is Shy, and that one is a mahou dhoujo anime cosplaying as superhero crap.

I am currently enjoying Zom100 despite there's an episode with a NSFW moment in one episode (so far). It is certainly better than High School of the Dead (for those who don't know, that is probably the most "zombie-precise" Japanese walking dead fiction because how differently the Japanese see the undead from us) and does touch upon a very important subject that could be relevant also to Western audiences : when you basically work to live.

Who knows. I just noticed they pulled a very Mediterranean/ South European kind of thing : adding more bureaucracy or a law or laws just because they can.

IIRC, they want to tax people more, which is fucking funny when what they really need to be doing is unfucking the business practices that helped destroy their population.

Then again, Japanese businesses are all about figuring out ways to do things in shitty ways and then surprised pikachu'ing decades down the line when those practices blow up in their faces because they refused to update their methodologies.
