That's not an actual answer, that's just outright trolling.

People's opinions and behavior can and should be changed.
It is an answer his logic equally applies in those situations and they illustrate how insane it is. Or do you think that the people of Dresden actively and constantly supporting the Nazi regime diddnt get exactly what they deserved?

So, what exactly are you advocating here? Firebombing leftists?

So apparently, this happened.

Welcome to 2021 (1984)!

And the Norwegian who wrote that is either a commie agent in the Norwegian government or a total idiot unaware of anything that happens outside his office.

It would be funny if they won it. And shitlibery is quite common in Europe, remember how Obama was venerated in Europe when he was elected (also give Nobel peace prize for being notBush)

This has been a problem for awhile now.

Trump like him or hate him pulled off one of the most important peace deals of the last 20 years, he will never get a noble peace prize. Now look at the other peace prize winners and count the war criminals....

Yeah....

Why not both?

In all seriousness, however, this is the same committee that once nominated Rigoberta Menchu for a Peace Prize after she wrote an autobiography about her life as being of Native American descent in Latin America, and it turned out to be largely falsified. Yes, that's right: They gave her a Peace Prize for writing historical fiction.

The Peace Prize has largely been regarded as a joke anyway. And I don’t think they’ll actually win...what would they do, fly over all the people who protested to receive their medals? I mean it would be hilarious if they did but it’s a virtue signaling stunt more than anything else.

I think it's fairly likely they'll win- them or a black racial activist who they can sell as symbolizing the riots. Stacey Abrams maybe?
If it's BLM it'd be the org.

Yeah but the thing is it's a very loose organization, or it's an "ideology" rather than something with a defined membership. Picking one person as a "representative" would cause an uproar within other segments, and, while that would be hilarious, would also embarrass the hell out of the committee.

And it was BLM as a whole that was nominated, not Abrams.

It's loose, but there is Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation and they could pick the "founders" Patrice Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi without too much genuinely intra-left controversy. We might mock it, for a variety of reasons, but I'm pretty sure the majority of the left would be patting themselves on the back for winning it rather than turning on each other.

While these organizations are fairly loose, I think conservatives, particularly moderate ones like yourself, make the mistake of overstating how loose left wing organizations are. BLMGNF, which often just calls itself BLM, has formal city chapters. So do many of the other organizations that make up the movement, as does Antifa. While it's true that they don't necessarily have a document listing every member or a publicly available organization chart, don't be fooled that these are just "ideologies" without organization.

Additionally, Abrams was also nominated.

Either or?
Embrace the power of "and".

Which just makes me laugh harder, honestly, because Stacey Abrams’ shtick is being a failed candidate for Georgia governor who’s a black woman.

I mean, if they do award it to BLM, whatever. My point is that the Nobel Peace Prize is, as with pretty much everything else related to Europe and politics, an absolute joke and a farce, and should be viewed as such.

Though I’m sure the kind folks at BLM will use the money they get to repair the various black-owned businesses they destroyed during the ri- er, mostly peaceful protests. Right? Right?

You shouldn't feel bad about the Peace Prize; it's honestly never meant anything but Norwegian politics. Nothing of value gained or lost.

At this point, almost everything has become a joke; so much so I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or scream incoherently.

If you honestly feel that way, then I strongly recommend you seek out a mental health provider, because that is a very unhealthy way of thinking. Especially if that’s your reaction to life on a daily basis.

We are discussing a Nobel Peace Prize nomination. In the grand scheme of things, it’s truly irrelevant as to who wins it. Hell, I doubt most people could name ten recipients without looking them up. All this does is gin up more material for comedians.

I wasn't talking about just the Nobel Peace Prize. Considering we've lost both the vote, as well as the rule of law, and are currently in the process of losing our freedoms of speech, association, assembly, and right to bear arms; you can't deny that things are looking pretty grim right now.

Except, no, we really aren’t, so I stand by my assertion that you seek help. I’m not saying this to insult or belittle you: I’m saying it because I myself have been there and it’s really not a healthy place to be.
