Yeah I'm not seeing this as iconoclasm since, a lot of science fiction authors are still in a permanent state of being revered no matter how much people hate their ideas. It's more like that thing where russians beat up icons to admonish the saints for not helping them.

Actually, I think even Communism can take advantage of the Roman Catholic Church and other offshoots, but that'd require not liking "Atheism" so much, say "If you were a Good Christian you'd be a Socialist. Jesus was a Socialist too"
